Royal Chandy Cocktail + OOTN + New Hayden Reis Tote

On Tuesday night, we had the best time going to a whisky tasting with friends at a rooftop bar in downtown Charleston called Stars. We then headed out to dinner at Rue de Jean. That place is delicious! I loved the duck confit, but next time I’ll probably get the cheeseburger my friend got!

The tasting session began with whisky cocktails. They were all super tasty, it was really hard to choose a favorite.

We then headed downstairs where we sipped new whisky flavors from Crown Royal. I’ve always been to wine tastings, but never a liquor tasting. Loved hearing the history of the whisky and how to sip liquor appropriately.

Here was my favorite one of the night, created by Stars Restaurant Mixologist Brandon Verkaik.

Royal Shandy

1 oz. Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel

.5 oz. Cardamaro

.5 oz. Peach Puree

.25 oz. Lemon Juice

.25 oz. Honey

Topped with Westbrook White Thai

Who knew whisky could be a summer drink!

Hayden-Reis was kind enough to send me a new Ditty Tote that I customized myself. If there’s anything you have in mind, that you don’t see on their site, they will work with you to create it. All I know is I wanted it to be neon pink and neon green. After they created this one for me, they loved it so much that they decided to make more so that you can order the same one! I know I’ve said it before, but this has been my favorite pool tote for two years running. I carry it with me every single time we head out to the pool. It has huge deep pockets, it’s large enough to carry everything including beach towels and it’s sailcloth and wipes clean. Can’t say enough great things about this tote!
