Kentucky Derby Inspo + Off to Mexico!

Scarf // Sleeveless Tank (A perfect toss-on tee! I have it in some many colors and prints!) // Shorts // Bracelet // Earrings // Jacks (in rose gold) // Sunnies

Are y’all ready for the Derby this Saturday?  Any fun plans?  I’ll be cheering on Hofburg (pretty much because his colors are pink and green – ha).  Whoever you’re pulling for, how cute is this Derby-printed scarf with the cutest colorful tassels?  Wear this and you’ll be all set for race day!

So this obviously isn’t the best pic – terrible lighting and my couch should be pulled from the wall more, but I wanted to share with y’all which couch we ended up choosing.  I’ve had a lot of you ask recently.  We got this one in the Performance Tweed (silver taupe).  It’s currently on sale too!  We’ve spilled coffee on it so far, and it was super easy to clean up!  Honestly, after a long search, we absolutely LOVE it!  I clearly need to decorate, but after the move, my focus has been cleaning out and taking baby steps as far as what furniture to choose.  I’m also nowhere close to being a decorator – another reason I’m taking my sweet time deciding everything to buy – from the wall art to the furniture to the rugs.

So proud of Wheeler yesterday!  She had speaking parts during her third grade performance and she did an awesome job!  Sure going to miss all of these sweet faces while we’re on our trip!  But I know they’re in good hands.  FYI, wearing this dress in a print from last year.

I couldn’t forget a Thirsty Thursday post without a cocktail!  So my first priority is to recreate the Magwood Collins cocktail I had over at Saltwater Cowboys a few weeks ago.  But after I’ve attempted that one, the Paper Shoes cocktail at The Grocery is next in line.  Love the sweet and sour taste of it!

Alright y’all, we are off to Mexico this morning!  Cannot wait to get there!  I’ve packed lots of new pieces that I’ll be sharing with y’all while I’m there, like this one above that I’ll be wearing on the plane.  The comfiest fabric and the fit has a little swing which I love!  Paired it with these earrings.  If you want more vacay-inspired looks, head back to these posts below from our week in Key West.  You may see some repeats on this trip, too!  I’m also carrying this new luggage along.  Lanier and I are going to attempt to share it on our trip.  I’ll let you know how it holds up!

Bikini Love!

If you’re looking for a classic, little black bikini (top/bottom), this is it!  Love the scallop detail and the bottom has awesome rear coverage!  That’s a deal breaker for me.  This little grey tie-dye coverup is less than $50 and the back straps are fun.  Paired here with these sandals (true to size) and this necklace.

Oh yeah, and if you’re a loyal Nordstrom shopper like myself, triple points week has started!  Time to stock up your faves or pieces you’ve had on your wish list!  Earn those rewards!  Just ordered this dress yesterday!  Cannot wait for it to arrive!!  Hurry though, it ends on Sunday at midnight!

Cheers to Thursday!

  1. Hello –

Always love your outfits! Anyway, quick question, are the Lilly Essie tops see through? Do you have to wear anything under the white?
    Thanks!

    1. I haven’t noticed that they’re see-through. I always wear a white Lululemon Free to Be Bra under mine.
