Day Three: Part One: Gettsyburg, PA

On Tuesday morning, we headed to the Gettsyburg Military Park.  The kids are all HUGE history buffs, so they love all of this.  They’ve watched all the Night at the Museums and National Treasure movies more times than I can count.  So I’m excited for them to get to see so much American history, up close!

Vaughn found another friend on our trail.  This guy is known as a woolly bear.

We’d planned to walk up to Little Round Top, but it’s currently closed for renovations.

Taking a break in the shade.

They said they wanted to not smile, like they did in the olden days photos.  Whatever that means.

This was Meade’s headquarters at Gettsburg.  It was so neat to see everything still so intact, just as the battlefields were back then.
