A Fun Day with Effie + Mother’s Day Dress

A few weeks ago, Effie was one of the top recipients of the CHAMP award at her school.  It’s an award given to those unsung heroes that volunteer in their community and do other tasks that may go unnoticed, but their kindness is very recognized.  Two of her teachers nominated her for the award.  They recognized these students at a special breakfast which was so sweet. // Dress

As a special treat, I let her choose a fun place to eat lunch.  She chose Sunsets on Shem Creek.

Then we headed over to Cantina 76 for a cocktail/mocktail.  They were delicious! // Tee // Jeans // Sunnies

And then walked next door and did some shopping at Parrot Surf Shop.

She walked out with these cute overalls and has worn them on repeat.

My friend Natalie Holst is a Make-A-Wish ambassador and had an event to raise money for a girl and her family that wants to travel back to her home of Jamaica.  Effie and I made a visit at Holst + Lee to shop and show our support.  I got these earrings.

That morning after she received her award, I surprised her with tickets to see the touring Mean Girls.  It was especially cool because her theater troupe is performing Mean Girls next week!

My ever-growing boys!  Logan wanted to come with Vaughn for his 6th Grade Orientation Night and show him around all of his classrooms.  I thought that was just so sweet!

Instagram had a private event where they came to share their newest technology for parents with teens that want to start using social media.  Wheeler and Effie don’t have it yet, but I was so excited to hear about all of the latest developments that Meta is installing to protect our kids when they begin to venture into the world of social media.  Thankfully mine haven’t pushed back on my decision not to let them have it yet. // Dress

Celebrated my dear friend Juju’s birthday at Leon’s!  She is just one of those people that builds you up and has the most amazing positive energy.  Everyone needs a Juju in their life!

The Siam Salad is always my go-to here.

I was so excited that rms beauty sent me some new products to try.

This bronzer is so good!  It doesn’t have a shimmer to it, just adds a sun kissed glow.  Apply it where the sun naturally hits your face and it’s subtle and just so good.  This is the Malibu color.

I’ve already been using this powder blush brush to apply the bronzer and the other brush is perfect for everything.  I’ve never been a big foundation fan because my daily SPF is tinted, but I wore this foundation the other day to try it out and it works so well.  It gives you a very even coverage and isn’t too caky.

We’re headed to Charlotte to celebrate Mother’s Day and my mom’s birthday this weekend.  Planning on wearing this beauty on Mother’s Day.  It runs big.  I sized down to an XS.

Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!
