Thirsty Thursday: Watermelon Quencher + End of Summer Sales

Watermelon Quencher
Yield: 2 drinks
4 cups watermelon
1 ounce vodka
½ ounce triple sec
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
1 cup ice
Salt for rim
Sugar for rim
Red food coloring (optional)
Purée watermelon in a blender.
Strain the mixture until it yields 2 ounces of juice.
Combine juice and next 3 ingredients (through lemon juice) in a cocktail shaker with 1 cup ice.
Shake 10—15 times to chill.
Rim 2 glasses with a mixture of half sugar, half salt (tinted with a couple of drops of red food coloring, if desired).
Pour drinks, with ice, into prepared glasses.
