Old Navy Swing Dress
I’ve had a few of you ask about the fit of this dress.  I’ll try and get a pic of me in it next week so you can get a better idea of how it looks.  I’m 5’6″ and it hits about an inch above my knee, so not to short.  I probably could’ve gone with a small since it’s a swing dress, but I decided on the medium and it fits great all over.  I know sometimes on swing dresses, the bottom part can be way too swingy, if you know what I mean.  This one isn’t.  It has just enough swing and the sleeves are fitted which I like.  The sleeves are a little long, but I like them that way.  It’s just a great simple dress that you can pair so many fun necklaces with, add leggings later, and wear it with almost any shoe, booties would be cute this Fall.
In case you missed it, Tory Burch started her summer sale yesterday.  And my blue Millers are included in the sale.  Many of you have asked about fit, since they are a little over the place.  That’s what’s a little tricky about Tory Burch and sizing.  Each year, the fit can be different, even on the same classic shoes.  The Millers this season are fitting pretty true to size.  I’m an 8.5 in Jack Rogers and wear an 8.5 in Millers too.
Vaughn’s first day of school ever is TODAY!  Please let me take a moment to compose myself.  I most likely will be bawling, and if not that, then I’ll be trying to hold it together until I leave his classroom.  Thankfully, my sister-in-law is in town, so I’ll have her to keep my mind on something else.
It really is the end of a time in my life.  No more babies.  Especially now that Vaughn is out of a crib and starting school…I never thought this day would get here…or at least not this quickly.  Then again, Vaughn will always be my baby.  Maybe that’s another reason I’m so emotional with him starting school.  My baby will be in school.  This will also mark the first time in seven years that I won’t have a child at home with me on a regular basis.  I’ve always had a baby here with me, since Wheeler was born.  What will I do with my time?  Haha.  The boys will only be going to school until 11:45, and Vaughn will still only be in school for three days a week, so it’s not like it’ll be a long time before I get to see them again, but still.  Today especially, I’ll be counting down those minutes as soon as I drop him off, when I get to see him again.
With worry, there’s prayer.  And with prayer comes thanksgiving.  I’m very thankful that he and Logan are only a year apart.  The teachers have already reassured me that they’ll have the same playground time.  They’ll be so thrilled to see each other!  Wish I could witness that today!  And all Logan kept telling Vaughn yesterday, when I picked him up from school was about all the cement mixers and cool toys in the classroom and the playground.  I know he’s going to love it!
Alright, enough sappiness!  At least it’s Friday, right?  The weekend is here!  I hope y’all have an awesome one!  The Panthers are playing another pre-season game tonight, and I just got these sandals for a subtle pop of Panthers blue.  For fit, they’re true to size.  Cannot wait for the regular season to start!
TGIF, Y’all!

  1. I can't imagine how hard it is for your baby to be going to school! My first one is off to school next week–she is Vaughn's age and she is going three days a week in the mornings too and I can't believe it! But I still have a baby at home to keep me busy. I hope he has a wonderful day!

    1. Thanks so much for the encouragement! I remember when I had that situation like you do now, when I sent Wheeler two days and had only Effie at home. Such a different world back then!
