First off, after mentioning yesterday that the boys were in major need of haircuts, they finally got them! Woohoo! // Dress (also available here) // Sunnies
Did y’all catch the 50th Annual CMAs last night? If you’ve been listening to country music for awhile the intro with all the old singers was amazing! It honestly made tear up. I wish so many of them would come out with new music! I had no idea Tim McGraw’s Humble and Kind was written by a mother of five. She wrote it as a prayer to them. Her speech made me tear up. Not to mention it’s an awesome song too. Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett are two of my favorites newer artists right now. Thomas Rhett’s song Die a Happy Man is currently one of my songs on repeat. I had no idea he wrote it for his wife. Makes it even that much better!
So, I’m backtracking here, but wanted to explain myself on the topic of music. I’m a major lover of music. Seriously. I listen to everything from beach music to classic rock, country to latest hits. I really do listen to it all, depending on my mood, and my children do too.
With country music, the lyrics are everything. Yes, some are cheesier than others, but I’ve always loved country music. When i threw it out there a few weeks ago to ask me anything, and I’d try to address it, one reader asked me what my first concert I attended was and what kind of music I liked. My first concert was Paul McCartney with my parents and some of my sisters at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte.
I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I will never forget when he performed “Live and Let Die.” The fireworks. Unforgettable. Soon after that I went to see Alabama, another awesome concert. See. I told you. Extremely different, but there’s just so much to love about different genres. Lanier’s the same way. When we started dating and he had just started college and I was still a senior in high school, he would end whatever email he sent me with a lyric from a song. The lyric was always different. I loved that. We play music in our house all the time…Saturday morning breakfasts making waffles listening to the Avett Brothers, chill time after school and Otis Redding, Taylor Swift dance parties, you name it. Music is everywhere in our lives, and I hope it always will be. I feel like so many songs evoke different memories in our lives, and I love that.
So for the second half of today’s post I’m sharing what I’m ‘Loving Lately.’ I don’t know what it is, but I’m already getting in the holiday spirit and it’s only November 3rd! Just love vibrant red during the holiday season!
I know this seems a little obvious to be a November favorite, but it truly is one of my favorite pieces to wear when the weather cools. When it’s too cold for just a long-sleeve shirt, toss on a vest and you’re good to go. I’ve loved these for years and years, and have them in a few colors. The pink is definitely my favorite. Here’s hoping J.Crew will bring that color back one day. Enter code: SHOPNOW and take 30% off your purchase.
Love the colors of this necklace. It would add a great pop of color to any outfit over the holidays, even a simple sweater. You could also carry it on into the spring too.
I know this top resembles so many striped tops I have. Clearly, I’m obsessed. But this one is a little shorter than the other, making it great to pair under a vest or cardigan. And it’s only $25!
An easy toss-on cardigan with a great shape and it covers the hips. That checks a lot of boxes off for me. Love the neutral color too. I’ve had my eye on this one for a little while now, and think I’m finally going to order it.
I’m already scheming for holiday gift guides, but wanted to go ahead and share this mug set with you. Only $25 for the set!
Anything buffalo check this time of year is kind of my favorite. Instead of a blanket scarf, opt for a blanket wrap. I love tossing on something this simple, but adds the perfect amount of warmth.
I could honestly own every piece of Iridescent Drusy that Kendra Scott creates. These gorgeous studs are no exception! Planning on wearing these throughout the holiday season.
A festive print for any holiday party. I already have the Margot top in two other colors and cannot way enough good things about this style. Can’t wait to add this one to my closet!
This cute watch is still one of my favorite watches to date! And it’s currently on sale!
I absolutely loved all the suggestions for holiday gift guides. Keep them coming! Surprisingly, the biggest request were ideas for the in-laws. I’ll be putting together a list of ideas, for sure. Must be challenging. Haha!
Hey there!
I LOVE your gift guides!
Can I request a preteen one? I’ve got a 12 year old on my list this year….
and yes! In-laws (ones that are CRAZY practical) I went with some Fleece 1/4 zips (everyone likes to stay warm, right?) but could use a few more ideas.
Thanks! —
You got it!
I’m loving that necklace and those mugs… super pretty!
Thanks!
I have the J Crew vest in navy but I REALLY need it in orange for gameday for my Tennessee Vols! If you know of any other orange puffer vests out there, I wish you’d let me know!!
Hi Erin! J.Crew had an orange vest this season, was on major sale until just last week! It sold out recently, but keep checking their sale section. It may come back!
Thanks 🙂
