I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas! Unlike a lot of people, I loved that it wasn’t too cold. I know it probably feels more like Christmas when there’s a chill in the air, but it’s so much easier to toss on clothes, when you’re not having to deal with socks, leggings, coats, etc. And we get to play outside so much more.
Since this was our first Christmas away, since our move earlier this year, this was our first Christmas Eve we weren’t celebrating it with family. It did feel a little different not being surrounded by our extended family, but we made the most of it!
And the kids had a blast!
This was the girls’ second time at a Japanese Steakhouse. The first time was when we celebrated Effie’s 2nd birthday and Wheeler kind of remembered it, but Effie didn’t. Let’s just say that last time she was entertaining by the chef, this time she hid under the table every time she saw fire. You can see the apprehension in her face.
All in all, I think they had a great time! I wore this Anthropologie Top and Lanier’s wearing this Vineyard Vines Shirt and it’s now on sale.
Apparently, I did a horrible job taking pics of Christmas morning. I mostly videotaped it, and there was so much going on, it was hard to snap a pic. Needless to say, the girls loved their new costumes and Effie is obsessed with her Barbie Dreamhouse (you can kind of see it behind her).
Sneaking a pic of the kids playing with some of their new toys. The girls were practicing a song and dance.
Around noon, we headed down to Georgia, where we’d stay for the next few days.
With their cousins (my sister-in-law’s children).
If it’s not cold enough for skiing, at least I can wear a little top donned with skiers, right? // Le Specs Sunglasses
Wheeler and Logan playing ball in the background, while my father-in-law (Poppy) danced with Effie.
My husband’s grandmother gets these cut down every year, so the kids were more than happy to play in the “jungle” before that happened.
Anthropologie Top (I’m wearing a small) // Tory Burch Miller Sandals (true to size) // Candy Shop Vintage Rice Beads Necklace (worn as a bracelet)
Goofing around. // Tory Burch Sunglasses
Saying goodbye to their great-grandmother, who was kind enough to let us stay with her.
Our fridge is constantly full of artwork, so it wasn’t a surprise that I didn’t notice Lanier’s little message at the top for a few days. Also, if you get a chance, read ‘A Child’s Advice to His Parents.’ We’ve kept it up since Wheeler was 2 and it’s always such a great reminder that children are small and so new to this world, and need direction and guidance…and most of all, just want attention and to be loved.
We got home from our trip yesterday. Just enough time to re-organize and re-pack, but this time with layers and pants. Heading out again this morning! // Eberjey Pajamas // Ugg Scuffette Slippers // Thymes 3-Wick Frasier Fir Candle (smells amazing!)
These boots will definitely be in tow, as we’re headed for cold and rainy weather. // Hunter Girls // Hunter Metallic // Hunter Boys
Lilly Pulitzer’s After Party Sale Info
I’m crossing my fingers that this Wright Dress is available during the sale in other prints. Love the shape of it so much! And you know I’d love to add another Elsa to my collection! If there are no links provided here to a certain accessory, they’re unfortunately sold out. Gorjana Cross Cuff // Gorjana Ring // Kendra Scott Necklace // Essie Fiji // Michael Kors Wedges (on sale, true to size)
I’ve had a few readers email asking about when this year’s New Year Cheer After Party Sale will be. I know last year the sale started on Monday, January 5th, so if it’s the same time frame as last year, the sale will start on Monday, January 4th. For more info, you can always check Lilly Pulitzer’s website here, or you know you can always check back here. Y’all know I’ll be sure and post about it as soon as I hear the accurate dates. For now, I’d plan on being ready at your computer on Monday morning.
If you’re not familiar with Lilly Pulitzer’s New Year Cheer Sale, or After Party Sale (they seem to change the sale name often), I’ll be providing more info as the week continues and throughout the weekend. I’ll tell you the most important thing, this sale is amazing! If you’re a Lilly lover, you won’t want to miss these deals! The girls especially racked up on so many Lilly goodies this Christmas, from clothes I’d ordered from the previous Lilly Sale, and saved them until now. If it actually is on Monday like I’m predicting, then Monday’s post will strictly be dedicated to all things Lilly. As soon as I see what they’re offering, I’ll try and provide sizing and fit guides on my post, as well as a little surprise for you. One very important thing to keep in mind is that everything goes FAST! So excited to see what they have to offer this year!
Again, as you always know, keep checking back and I’ll post a confirmation as soon as I hear, and will continue to provide you with the most up-to-date details about this year’s Lilly Sale so stay tuned!

Hi there! Wondering about the fit of the Lilly Wright dress – did you size down or take your regular size? I usually wear a small… But looks like this dress might run a little big?
I took my regular size. It runs a little big, but not enough to size down.
I love those Le Specs sunglasses on you! I may have to get a pair considering the price. I also love your daughter's denim jumper. It looks so cute on you and so classic. I may have to get one for mine!
Thanks, Emily! Yes, the Le Specs are awesome and super lightweight too! I scored the denim jumper on Amazon about a month ago. Love it on her!
