Today, I’m sharing with you the most delicious minty-coffee/cocktail concoction that will warm you right up when the weather gets cooler. And it’s super easy to create.
Peppermint Coffee Toddy
(found it here)
Serves 4-6
4 cups (32 ounces) very strong, freshly-brewed coffee
1 cup (8 ounces) peppermint schnapps
3/4 cup (6 ounces) crème de cacao
1/2 cup (4 ounces) heavy cream
Whipped cream, for serving
Combine the coffee, peppermint schnapps, and crème de cacao in a large saucepan.
Heat on medium-low until hot.
Stir in heavy cream before serving and adjust liqueurs to taste, if desired.
Garnish with whipped cream, fresh mint leaves, and candy canes.
(Keep warm in an insulated carafe or coffee percolator if holding for a party.)
Doesn’t it sound delicious? I actually tried it earlier this week and absolutely loved it!
Cheers!
The boys had picture day last week. If this is any indication of how it went down, I’m guessing Vaughn may not have even looked at the camera. But every year, school photos always surprise me. They always turn out so well!
I posted this pic of sweet Logan last week and had a few of you ask about his smocked fleece pullover. It’s by Little Follies, but is unfortunately no longer available. If you’ve ever heard of Zulily, it’s a great place to find discounted items. It can be overwhelming at how many sections there are, but many times I’ll type “smock” in the search bar and find lots of smocked items on sale. Click here to check out today’s smocked collection. Love it all!
I came across this pic from last summer. I can’t believe how much they’ve grown! The smocked outfit Logan is wearing used to be his daddy’s when he was little.
I found the ones they wore yesterday from Zulily a few weeks ago. It’s probably too late to order these for Halloween, but they already have lots of holiday smocking available.
Don’t let this angle fool you. An entire bottle of wine can fit in this glass. My girlfriend and I were out shopping the other day and I grabbed one. I haven’t yet tested it by pouring it completely full, but it will be entertaining when I do. Glass Sculpture // Gold Foil Wishbone Print
If you’re ever in Charleston, visit Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. Ordered this one this past Friday and was in heaven. Filled with spicy pimento cheese, avocado and bacon bits.
As I mentioned on Monday’s post, we enjoyed a sleepover with friends. You can probably tell from the photos above the kids had a blast! All kids are wearing Roberta Roller Rabbit pjs, except Effie. She’s wearing this Mini Boden Nightgown.
Spotted the prettiest window boxes downtown over the weekend.
Last week, they were construction workers. This week, they’re firemen.
I found the girls’ ghost dresses on Zulily a few weeks ago. They’re no longer available, but I just love these smocked dresses for the holidays. They’re hot pink! And these are so sweet for the winter months too.
I finally took both boys to get haircuts earlier this week. Long overdue. It’s amazing how well they do now. No complaints at all.
Fresh and clean.
Vaughn and I headed into a little shop on Tuesday morning and I spotted his name on a shelf. He could’ve cared less, but I thought it was so cool.
A view of Sullivan’s Island from the end of Pitt Street on a walk the other day. A trolley bridge used to connect the two areas a long time ago, complete with a drawbridge.
Today is the last day of Shopbop’s Friends & Family Sale. If you’re thinking of ordering some things, do it while it’s on sale. The worst is when you wait and then regret not getting it when it was on sale. Since it’s free shipping, I keep placing separate orders. I just ordered this Fringe Cardigan yesterday to try.
Top (runs a little small, order one size up, 25% off with code: INTHEFAM25) // Jeans (these are my favorite ones, that I featured on Tuesday’s post) // Sandals (true to size, and they’re on sale) // Leopard Calfhair Clutch (25% off with code: INTHEFAM25) // Watch (25% off with code: INTHEFAM25) // Star Necklace (25% off with code: INTHEFAM25)
Shopbop finally picked up the grey version in this style that I wore last week. Get it today for 25% off with code: INTHEFAM25. Currently available in all sizes. Hurry though, the sale ends at midnight! Fore more details on the rest of my outfit, check out this post.
This dress is also back in stock, but only a few sizes are left. Fit is true to size. I’m wearing a small.
To see all of my favorites from the sale, check out yesterday’s post.
Don’t forget to enter INTHEFAM25 for 25% off your order.

These dip dye stools…
…and these rolling storage crates are two of my favorite items that we use often in our house.
Tonight, I’m heading out to a really fun event here in town.
I can’t wait to share details with you on tomorrow’s post!

Happy Thursday, Y’all!
That peppermint coffee looks delicious !!!
The blouse Dianne blouse is gorgeous on you. I haven't tried on that brand and am unsure what size to get. I typically wear a xs in Joie tops. If you don't mind me asking, what size is your top? We are pretty similar in sizing.
It runs small. I usually wear a small in Joie, but had to get a medium in this DVF blouse. I'd recommend a small for you. 😉
Thanks, I'm ordering:)
