Wednesday Whereabouts

If you’ve been following SSP for awhile, you’ll know that this little lamb is Wheeler’s beloved “Baba” that she’s had since she was a baby.  At age 6, she still sleeps with him every night.  During her first week of school last week they had a pretend sleepover in her classroom.  Not only did they get to wear comfy pjs, they got to bring a stuffed animal of their choice to school.  Hands down, the easiest decision she made was bringing Baba.  The look on her face when she knew he was getting to come along with her was priceless.  It will be a very sad day when she outgrows sleeping with him…hope it never happens.

I’ve been sporting this white color (Essie Tuck it in My Tux) on my nails this past week, and I kind of love it.  Paired here with my Tory Burch Sunglasses and these Flip Flops.

On Friday night, we went with friends to a disco-themed event/fundraiser that raised money for their son’s school.   The actual Village People performed.  Three of the originals are still in it.  Definitely entertaining to say the least!  The dress I wore is an old Lilly Pulitzer Dress from at least five years ago.  The print is called Bling My Chimes.  My hot pink heels are old too, similar here.
After the performance, there was a very entertaining live auction.  Can you tell how much I wanted this labradoodle or golden doodle?  Whatever he was, I wanted to bid on him.  He was just so sweet!

Yes, my friend got a nice wig for Lanier!  Still cracks me up!

Vaughn at the dock was the cutest thing ever.  He kept peering between the slats saying, “Mama, ders (there’s) water right theyah (there)!”
Looking forward to many more days like we had this weekend.
Was attempting to take a quick pic of the girls and their necklaces, before loading them up for our outing, but Logan said he wanted in it too. // His ‘Awesome’ Tee is crewcuts. // The girls’ necklaces are Gunner & Lux and Mini Melvin (debuting soon) and their shoes are Morgan & Milo // Effie’s Dress is Mini Boden and Wheeler’s Sweatshirt is Peek and Leggings are crewcuts.
Mini Boden has some great new items right now.  Love this dress too!
Available here and in more sizes here.
I grew up visiting the USS Yorktown pretty often, basically whenever we were in town visiting.  Nothing has changed, which I loved.  And you know I was so excited to share this place with the kids…especially with the boys who are so fascinated with planes, boats, etc. right now.  Can you imagine playing with small planes and cars, and then actually getting to see their actual size?  And naturally, every plane and car was a character from one of the movies to Logan, so he’d say, “Look Mama, it’s Echo!  It’s Sarge!”
After we left, they all said they wanted to go back again.  The perks of this being a permanent vacation is that we actually get to!  I was also very surprised at how inquisitive and curious Wheeler was, while we were visiting.  She asked the volunteers there so many questions about different equipment and machines.  I’m just glad they had the answers because I sure didn’t.  She’s really into history too, just like her dad.
Speaking of Wheeler, check out this poster she made for a contest at school.  For Career Week, students had the opportunity to draw inside a heart what they wanted to be when they grow up.  Wheeler says, “When I grow up I want to be a mom, and I want to use all of these things.”  I think she nailed it.
Last night, in the rain, I had a hair color appointment.  It was my first time since we’ve moved that I’ve had an outing sans children.  The wine was a nice added touch.  Unfortunately, my color Hunters are currently sold out, but I do love this color right now.
I’m not sure what was going on with yesterday’s post, but I was having some technical difficulties.  In case you missed it, check it out here.
Happy Wednesday!

  1. You're so cute, but can I be honest? There's something I'm not entirely loving about your haircolor. It's okay, but I think your hair looked so much better when it was lighter…I think it highlighted your face a little better. This color doesn't do as much for you. Maybe this tone of dark is just not the right tone – too much red or copper maybe? I don't know, just throwing that out there with the best of intensions.

  2. I love this post! When you post more about your everyday events/outfits and reviews of products you have used for a while and love are my favorite. Not as much the posed/planned posts. Loving everything about your hair and outfit at the Disco, too 🙂

    1. You're sweet! Click on the Wednesday Whereabouts tab at the top and it'll pull up all of those precious posts. That's usually where I share what we've been up to that week. 😉

  3. Okay, I've got to know! How do you do your hair in those pretty beach waves like you did for the disco party? I can never replicate this style with my curling wand. Please HELP!
