Health & Fitness

I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!  The weather here was gorgeous and sunny.  Had to soak it up because most of this week rain is expected.  We hit up the USS Yorktown again.  Since we had friends in town, they wanted to visit it, so we were excited to go back.  I’ll be sharing more pics on this week’s Wednesday Whereabouts.
While packing and prepping for the move, and unpacking and organizing, my work-outs and eating habits suffered.  My priorities were definitely not on me staying fit and healthy at all.  Now that I’ve started running again, I’m hoping to stay more focused.  While I try and stay as positive as I can, it helps when I know I’m keeping my body healthy too.  I just feel better in all aspects of my life.  I enjoy working out in the morning, to set my day off on the right note.  If I don’t, then I ultimately end up not getting it done by the end of the day.
One thing’s for sure, I do better when I record what I eat.  My Fitness Pal is an app I have used before, and I plan to start it again.  So easy to record your daily diary and more.
I also have my Fitbit Charge HR which I still wear almost everyday.  I love aiming for 10k steps a day.  Incorporating more time for running will help me meet that goal more often.
Having a partner to help keep you motivated.  This is so important.  When Lanier and I are both committed, it makes it so much easier to stay on track.  Honestly, just having supportive friends and family is so important, not just for your health and fitness but in life too.
Going to bed earlier.  For how much I emphasize the importance of sleep for my children, it’s important for me, also.  I need to give my body more time to recharge.
For running and to keep track of my miles while I run, I use an app called Endomondo.  It comes on while I’m listening to Pandora and lets me know when I’ve hit each mile marker and how many minutes it took to run that mile.  If you have friends on Endomondo, you can also send someone running an encouraging message while they’re out on their run!  Love that little perk!

I just ordered this book Tales From Another Mother Runner, recommended by a friend, and plan to start reading it soon.  Any extra inspiration will help!

It’s no secret that I love my Nike Free 5.0s.  Just see my post from this past Friday.  But I really do love them.  They’re super lightweight and very easy and comfortable to run in.  For fit, they’re true to size.

Today’s Pandora Playlist

Home – Phillip Phillips
Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen
It’s Time – Imagine Dragons
Stereo Hearts – Gym Class Heroes
We are Young – Fun.
Part of Me – Katy Perry
Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO
Dyamite – Taio Cruz

Here’s to getting fit!  If you need some motivation, just know that summer will be here before you know it!  And that means swimsuit season!!
Happy Monday, Y’all!

Also, I truly believe that there are angels in This world, as I’m sure many of you do also.
I am so very thankful they are here, especially when we need them the most!

  1. Great post today! I have really started to push my running into high gear. I have started to really enjoy it lately and can't wait to go on some longer runs outside now that it's warming up. I might have to check out that book too!! Thanks, girl! Have a great day! Oh, and I agree about angels on earth! 🙂 Hugs

  2. Love this!! I need to get in a better schedule and make time for my self. I feel like I have no time to do anything for myself… Way to go
