Good Eats Lately + OOTDs + SEWE Discount + Minted Valentine’s Cards

Anyone going to Charleston’s Southeastern Wildlife Exposition this year?

What is it?

It’s “a three-day celebration of wildlife and nature through fine art, conservation education, sporting demonstrations, food, drink and the people who honor them all. The largest event of its kind in the US, SEWE makes its home in Charleston, South Carolina and plays host to hundreds of artists and exhibitors, plus experts in wildlife and nature art – all eager to share their art and insights with more than 40,000 attendees.”

We’ve been the past two years and have absolutely loved it!  The kids love seeing all the animals and there’s just so much going on everywhere, puppet shows, jumpy houses, camel rides, petting zoos, dog competitions, etc.  Children ages 10 and under get in free.  Obviously a huge plus for us!

It’s hard to believe these pics above were from two years ago.  This was my sister’s dog competing in the Dock Dogs competition.

Last February, it was much colder.  But that didn’t stop us from having a blast!

They loved getting to ride the bus from downtown’s Marion Square out to Brittlebank Park.

If their expressions aren’t obvious enough, we’ll definitely be attending again this year!

My favorite pic from last year.  My sweet Vaughn.

I know it’s a little early to be thinking of Valentine’s cards for your kiddos, but it never hurts to be on the ball.  And trust me, it’ll be here before you know it.  I’m loving Minted’s Valentine classroom cards this year!  Aren’t the ones above so cute??  They have over 300 classroom cards to choose from.  Good luck deciding which ones to order!  Plus, they have a great deal going on right now.  Get 15 cards for $14, with a FREE upgrade to any card shape.  On top of that, enjoy FREE 24 matching stickers (a $10 value) with classroom Valentines orders of $20+.  Use code: STICKERS17 by Tuesday at midnight.  I’m planning on sitting the kids down this afternoon and letting them pick out the ones they want to order.

Yesterday’s OOTD

After having quite a few of my fellow tennis player readers ask what I usually wear when I play, here you go!  This is pretty much what I wear when I run too.  Wearing this tank and sports bra underneath.  I never wear sunglasses to play, only a hat. // Jacket // Shorts // Crossbody

Good Eats This Week

Oysters & Brussel Sprouts at Leon’s Oyster Shop.  Probably one of my favorite places for oysters in Charleston.

Fried Oyster Sandwish – My favorite!

Upgraded my go-to avocado toast game with a tomato and fried egg at The Daily.  Great breakfast and brunch spot. // Sunnies // Wallet

I know most of y’all know I have a sunglasses addiction.  This pair continues to be my favorite lately. // Shorts // Flip Flops

I’m so excited!  Lanier and I are headed to see The Beach Boys tonight!  Should be such a fun date night!  I’ve been a fan of The Beach Boys since I was in elementary school and have never seen them perform in person.  Cannot wait!

Planning on wearing this pretty romper tonight, but only if it’s warm enough.  Also available here.

I hope y’all have a great weekend!

TGIF!

  1. Thanks for the great post on Valentine’s Day cards! I ordered mine today and the standard shipping predicted arrival date is 2/1. So happy for your post reminding me to order now and not wait! And your posts kill my bank account daily ? Love following your sweet family!

  2. Hi Ashley,

Would you recommend Wild Dunes for a family vacationing in Charleston this summer? We want to be close to the beach & also visit downtown. I wasn’t sure if you knew of any other good places?

    Thank you!

    1. Definitely! We used to vacation there a lot when I was younger. We usually stayed at Ocean Club or rented a house. If your family plays tennis, their clinics are great! And the Monday night exhibitions are really fun to attend.
