Fashion Friday: An OOTN + Other Randoms + Latest Sales

I hope y’all are as excited as I am that it’s Friday!  With Fall finally here, I’m loving all the autumn decor everywhere.  I got these little guys at the grocery store to put on our mantle.  I seriously had the urge to buy some big pumpkins too, but we save that for the pumpkin patch.  I’m hoping we can plan a date sooner than later…especially with this fabulously cool weather we’ve been having!
Earlier this week on Instagram, I told y’all I’d showed you what was in these little Kendra Scott boxes.
The first gift was this awesome Naomi Ring!  I know it looks like it’d be so uncomfortable, but it’s really not.  You can also adjust the rings by bending them, to get it to fit your fingers just right.  When I wore it out last night, it was definitely a conversation piece.  And we all know that gray is really in this Fall, so these platinum drusy stones are perfect!  My nail color is Essie Berry Naughty.
The second gift was another Rayne Necklace to add to my ever-growing collection, in Slate.  This necklace style seriously goes with everything.
And the gray color is a little translucent, which I think gives it an even cooler look.
You may remember on Wednesday’s post that I was planning on wearing this outfit to a girls’ night…

Well, I did.  And even more importantly, it was super comfy too!

Here’s what the top looks like in person, that I described on yesterday’s post.  It really is the softest fabric and the length is perfect to pair with leggings, a vest and booties/boots.  Check it out on Tuckernuck‘s site here.  I’m seriously thinking about getting the grey stripe too, when it comes back in stock.  The good thing with Tuckernuck is that you can click on “Notify Me When It’s Available” and they’ll email you as soon as an item you want gets restocked.  And my sunnies are from there, as well.  They’re by Red’s Outfitters, in the Hatcher Amber style. // Tory Burch Snakeskin iPhone Case
I know I’ve talked about my favorite riding boots before, but as I get new readers, I get emails asking if I have a favorite.  And the answer is yes.  I got these Frye Paige Tall Riding Boots in Tan last Fall and if you’ve been following me for awhile you’ll know that I wore them a lot last year…and I plan on wearing them just as much this season and on into winter.  After posting about how much I loved them last year, I had so many people comment about their love for Frye boots.  I remember one reader saying she’s had the same pair for seventeen years, and that they get better the more they’re worn.  I’m hoping my boots last that long.  For as long as it took me to find the perfect pair, I was so happy to hear that they’ll stand the test of time!
These boots were included in my Fall Favorites post a few weeks back.  If you missed the post, check it out here.  I also included a helpful fit guide for all my favorites.  I’m an 8.5 and went down a full size in these boots, to a 7.5.

Being sick last week definitely didn’t help my motivation to start back running again.  But this week, with lots of encouragement from friends, I started back.  And I am so happy I did!  I must say the early morning runs are the only way to go for me.  Once the day starts rolling after that, if I’ve missed my early morning run, it’s practically impossible to fit it in later in the day.  And by the time dinner and bedtimes have happened, there’s no way I feel like running after that.  So, early morning runs it will always have to be! // Nike Free 5.0 (color sold out, similar here)
SSP reader, Anne, asked what hair ties I wear while running because hers seemed to always pull her hair.  I swear by Emi-Jay Hair Ties.  I became a fan a few years ago when I had been wearing one for a few hours, took it out, and there wasn’t a dent in my hair.  Sold!
Vaughn and I went to the eye doctor while the children were in school on Monday, so I could get my contacts prescription refilled.  We were there for almost two hours.  Why does the eye doctor always take so long?  But I can’t complain, I’m thankful we knocked everything out, and Vaughn behaved himself.  I also remembered to get my PD checked at the Optical Desk so I could order new glasses.  I’ve been meaning to place my order all week, but I still can’t decide whether or not I want to go with clear or black.  Earlier this year, I was given a clear pair that I love, but they weren’t prescription.  After having pink eye last year, I really need a new pair of glasses.  My old pair is over ten years old and the prescription is way off.  Once I finally decide which color, I’ll be sure and let y’all know.  The ones above are only $49 and ship for free.

My friend Kat’s mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s three years ago.  I know you’ve heard me talk about her story before.  I think even last time when I posted about it, I found out that more of my friends have a parent that was diagnosed with this, as well.  Here’s Kat’s story.  And if you’re in town this weekend, you can join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s too, behind South Park Mall at Symphony Park.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post on “What to Wear To…”  I’ve had a few readers inquiring about styling outfits for different occasions.  Here’s what I’ll be sharing tomorrow…

  1. I'm sorry if I double-commented… I pushed publish and then my comment disappeared. Thank you for posting this, I just moved to Charlotte in August, and lost my father (who had early onset Alzheimer's) in May of this year. I wouldn't have otherwise known about this walk, but now I am really excited to donate AND participate 🙂

    1. Julia, I am so glad I could help! Enjoy the walk today, and thank Kat more than me. 🙂 I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I cannot imagine! Prayers with you today as you participate and support such a great cause!

  2. Anthropologie is doing an extra 25% off sale. I picked up a cute shirt and hat today. Not sure if it will continue thru the weekend. Also, I am still on the hunt for a good wedding dress. I tried on a cute Lilly shift the other day but am not sold. I know black is classic but if you have anymore suggestions it would be appreciated. 🙂
