Closing Your Rings + Life Lately + A SEWE Giveaway!

Y’all may remember this post and my goal this month – to close all my rings on the iPhone Activity App with my Apple Watch.  How’s everyone doing?  Some days it’s definitely more of a challenge when I want a break day, but I always make myself find time in the day to knock out a work-out.

On most days I hit my exercise and move goals with running and tennis.  This month I’m at 84 miles running so far!

While I love running and tennis, I recently picked up spinning a few months ago.  And just last week I took a fun and vigorous kickboxing class with friends.  Talk abut a work-out!

Wore these leggings.

Don’t I look like a pro??  Haha.

A few hours later, I had a friend talk me into trying out her Jiu Jitsu class.  It was so good.  I just wish I had the time to learn all the moves so that I could spar better.  But I would LOVE to learn enough for self-defense.  It was so intense that I was seriously sore for two days straight.  But that’s a good thing, right?  Was told to wear leggings AND long sleeves so I wouldn’t get mat burns.

Enjoying a well-deserved poke bowl after all of that exercise!

Wheeler begged me to wear her friend’s rollerblades last week.  I was so against it, but she insisted she only wanted to try them on.  Well, she wore them for maybe ten minutes and fell back and strained her arm and elbow.  Thankfully, she learned her lesson and hopefully won’t want to wear them ever again.  I’ve seen too many injuries from skates and skateboards that I’m okay with them never using them.

Besties.

After a very rainy Thursday, Friday was beautiful!  Stopped into one of my fave spots on King Street, Vineyard Vines.  Their latest collection just dropped and I couldn’t wait to get in and check it out!  Picked up lots of goodies for an upcoming trip.  Can’t wait to share them with you soon!

I know I need to branch out and try new spots on King Street, but I just can’t quit my love for CO!

Clear, blue skies.

Lanier and I headed out for a date night on Friday.  Leon’s Oyster Shop had an hour wait, so we stopped into Graft Wine Bar for apps and wine while we waited.

This app was delicious and very substantial which Lanier loved.

I was happy to enjoy the same wine I enjoyed the last time I was here, the Montepulciano.  So good!

Love the wedge at Leon’s and obviously their oysters are delicious!

Lanier’s favorite is always their fried chicken.

After dinner, we met up with friends for some late night bowling at The Alley.  I had some of you ask about my cape.  It’s an oldie but goody, but here’s a similar one from the same designer.

Lanier and I have tried to go on more date nights recently.  It’s so easy (and fun) to go with a group, don’t get me wrong.  But I think time with just you and your significant other is important too.  A time to put down your phones, do something you both enjoy and have open communication without distractions.  It’s been great so far.  Hoping to keep it up throughout the new year!  My top is old, but scroll below for some other really cute navy tops too.  If you’re having trouble scrolling, try refreshing the page and that should do the trick.

Some Sunday church pics are better than others…

Haha.

Wearing this dress and these heels.

And last, but not least.  A giveaway!  I’m giving away four three-day passes to SEWE (a $200 value!) to one lucky reader over on Instagram!  Head here to enter.  Giveaway ends on 1/31 and the winner will be announced on 1/2. // Wearing this new pullover.  Love this color so much!

I hope y’all have a great start to your week!

  1. That is so sad about the skating! I skated almost every single day and never had a single injury! I didn’t know anyone who did either. We ice skated and roller skated in the summer every day. As an adult we rollor bladed. I remember even riding my bike with the roller skates on.

    1. I did the same, but definitely had some injuries. And my husband fell ice skating when he was in 4th grade and broke off his two front teeth. With as many activities as they do and love, I think they’re fine. 😉
