Cheers to a New Year!

Cheers to a new year!  So very much to be thankful for in 2018 and I have a feeling that 2019 will be one of our best years yet!  I know some of y’all have been asking why the kiddos have been absent in most of our pics lately, it’s because they’re staying with their grandparents and enjoying some extra time with their cousins.  Lanier and I are taking full advantage, with lots of dates and outings.  We decided to stay here and not travel, but it’s been so nice to have some much needed time to spend together.  I think every relationship needs that.  The kids come back tomorrow and I cannot wait!  I did miss them terribly while they were gone, but they look forward to this time so much that it makes me happy that they’re not missing us the whole time. // Top (I sized up to a medium for a roomer fit.) // Sunnies // Flip Flops // Earrings

On another note, can you believe it was this warm here yesterday!?  Sunny and 75.  And to think last year around this time, we had snow!

This calendar was a true treasure this past year.  Many of you ask where it’s from.  It makes a great gift too!

Five Loaves never disappoints.  That soup is tarragon tomato soup with crab meat.  The best!

We were so excited to enjoy a day out on the boat.  Lanier and I were ambitious and both woke up early on New Year’s Day.  He got his work-out in and I knocked out a run and some tennis, so this was our relaxing reward.

Love capturing views of Charleston from the water.

Instead of black eyed peas and collared greens, it was salted caramel and champs.

The clouds rolled in and I know at some point it rained, but we thankfully dodged getting wet.

This was the calmest we’d ever seen the harbor.  Not many people took to the water yesterday, which we were surprised.

Love this capture of some ominous waves.

A view of the sunset heading to Sullivan’s Island, on our way to dinner.

Okay, I lied.  We ended up having collared greens.  Only because they’re amazing here!

We ended the day at Home Team.  Their wings are the BEST!  My tee is under $20!  And my necklace is by Twine & Twig.

We decided not to stay up and watch the game at Home Team, since we’d had a pretty late night the night before on NYE.  Kind of glad we made that decision now.  The Dawgs lost.  The couch and hot tea were much better for football viewing anyway.

Now onto my goals and resolutions for 2019.  I usually try and keep them pretty simple, so they’re easier to accomplish.  For one, I’m going to attempt to close out all of my rings in January.  If you’re unsure what this means, head to your Activity Tracker on your iPhone.  It automatically syncs to your Apple Watch and it’s easy to understand from there.

As for how I will close out my rings, I’m going to attempt to run three miles everyday, take a few spin classes each week and play tennis when I can.  To ensure your goals are correct for your body, make sure to enter in correct weight and measurements.  My current goals are Move: 600 Calories // Stand: 12 Hours // Exercise: 30 Minutes.  Here’s hoping this works!  I closed all rings out back in August and never felt better!  If you want to follow along, I’ll be using the hashtag: #SSPCloseYourRings.  You can tag it too, if you need some accountability and motivation.  Here’s hoping I inspire and motivate you to keep it up!

More Resolutions

Be more organized.  Clean out and purge things we don’t use.

Get on a routine.  Good for kids to know what to expect most of the time.

Attend church regularly.  We’ve been good at this one.  Hope it continues in the new year.

Daily devotions.  Making time everyday for Him.  I just ordered this book.

Read more.  Less tv and more books.

Be more patient.  Rushing things isn’t worth it.

Focus on slowing down.  Savor the moment.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s post!  Since it’s a new year and I’ve been at this blogging gig for almost nine years (still hard to believe!), I thought I’d do a little ‘About Me’ post to update those of you who have been following me for awhile and introduce myself to those that are new readers.  Hope y’all enjoy!

In case you missed my NYE post, check it out here.  Also, you can always shop all of my latest outfits here.
