Yesterday, I kicked off my Charleston Wine and Food Festival Experience with a Wine Blending Class. I don’t know what was more fun, attempting to make some tasty wines or meeting the people at my table. One couple (a pediatrician and a dentist in the Air Force) was visiting from Oklahoma and another was visiting from Portland, Maine.
I’ll have to admit, I was pretty overwhelmed when I walked into this scene. But it ended up being so much fun! And the wine was fabulous!
Melissa Ann Barton, Mod Squad Martha, who used to cook food for the famous in Nashville, even at the CMAs!, whipped up the most amazing dishes to pair with our wine.
I had some of you ask where my purple ring was from. It’s from the same local boutique where my Charleston Rice Beads necklaces are from, Candy Shop Vintage. She’ll have a booth at the Culinary Village, so if you’re there, stop by!

The best part about all of these dishes was the vinaigrette she used, which was Melissa Ann’s very own!
