Last week, Lanier and I headed to Mexico with our good friends and had an absolute blast!
Can you tell I was just a little bit excited? My travel outfit: Dress (25% off with code: SHOPNOW; super comfy for the flight) // Earrings // Ring // Sunnies // Flip Flops // Crossbody (currently 25% off with code: SSP25)
When we arrived, we headed out to the beach as quickly as we could. It was overcast when we arrived and it even rained that night and the next morning, but we used the time to get a work-out in and enjoy some spa time with massages.
A view from our balcony.
Our room and room services were amazing! Loved how clean and pristine everything was each day. I mean, how impressive are those palm creations?
That afternoon the clouds cleared and we had beautiful weather the rest of our trip!
The place we stayed was called the Yucatan Princess. It’s fairly new, located in the Mayan Riviera.
You may remember from my St. John trip, but Effie always wants Lamby to come along so I can snap a pic of her to send back to Effie. She wants me to know I’m thinking about her.
We enjoyed playing tennis almost every morning.
In addition to the pools, there were lots of places to chill with excellent breezes.
One of the days we were there, we took an excursion to shop for some goodies for the kids in Playa del Carmen.
Wearing this Lilly Dress.
This lunch spot called El Fogón is off the beaten path, but highly recommended. It’s a must if you’re ever visiting.
This was probably my most favorite spot on the trip. On the beach with an amazing breeze, you can’t ask for much more. The ultimate in rest and relaxation.
Lanier, enjoying a little snorkel time.
We arrived back early Wednesday morning. We were sad to leave, but I was pretty excited to get home to the kids. We both agreed it was the perfect amount of time to travel. Six days. Not too short and just long enough without being too long. But I will admit, it was hard when it finally came to an end. Considering we haven’t traveled this far and this long since our honeymoon (13 years ago), we know now it won’t be that long again before we make another trip like this. So good for the both of us.
Be sure and check out tomorrow’s post. I’ll be sharing what all I wore on our trip!
You can also check out what I all packed here, and shop my most recent outfits here.
Hope y’all are having a great week so far!
Looks like a fabulous trip!! I’m so jealous your husband gets so much time away from work! Didn’t y’all just have spring break? I love that he’s able to do this–I know he works hard! 🙂 Do your fiends play tennis, too? How did y’all decide on this location? Was your resort all inclusive? Dying for a couples trip in our near future, as well!
Haha! You’re right. We did just have Spring Break! I wish we could’ve spaced out our trips more, since my husband doesn’t get that much time off, but it’s just what worked with scheduling with my parents and inlaws to watch the kids and our friends’ schedule that went with us. It’s a lot of organizing…probably one of the reasons it’s taken this long for us to go on a trip. Haha. But it was totally worth it! Our friends do play. She’s on two of my tennis teams and one of my best friends. 😉 Our resort was all-inclusive and we loved it! Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for reading! xoxo, Ashley
