Wednesday Whereabouts

Yesterday morning, Wheeler told me Effie was going to sneak a piece of jewelry to wear to school.  I was curious as to what it was.  When Effie showed me it was a tiger, I couldn’t resist letting her wear it (she tucked it what she was wearing).  I know my mom would’ve been proud!  Go Clemson!

Y’all, I’m absolutely loving this jacket!  It’s a little swingy and I probably could’ve done an XS, but I love how it fits a little bit bigger.  I’m not sure why the last pic makes the zipper alignment seem off, but it’s definitely in the middle of the jacket.  After seeing it paired with these fun leggings, I’m now thinking I need to add them to my work-out collection too.  So although it does run a little big, I’d still order your regular size.  Effie’s wearing the matching dress.

On one of the days that the children didn’t have school over the holiday break, we visited the battleship.  Since it’s a constant fixture we see all the time, they always talk about the next time they’re going to visit.  We try and go a few times a year.  While we’ve only lived here two years, we’ve already figured out the best times to visit the battleship, when we know it won’t be that busy.  This day was no exception.  It was seriously like we had the whole ship to ourselves.  They’re also at the age where they all still enjoy doing the same things, so I’m grateful we all got to have a blast together!  The newest perk of the battleship is that they added this little minibus the children are riding in above.  Lloyd, our driver was super sweet.  He was kind enough to drop us off right at the entrance, so we didn’t have to walk the entire way.

Such a fun day!  Some visits we can spend an hour or so, but this day we were there for over three hours.  We enjoyed lunch and riding the rides and visiting every nook and cranny while we were there.  If you’re a local or visiting, it’s a great spot to visit!

As I mentioned the other day, while I thought I was going to hibernate all weekend, I did manage to meet some friends at The Obstinate Daughter for lunch.  We had the best time!  It honestly is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Charleston.  I’d be happy eating every single meal on the menu.  This day we had the gnocchi, beet salad and mussels.  There’s nothing better!

Wore this coat, these shoes and these sunnies.

On Friday, we headed to a friends’ house for a playdate and had the best time!

They also loved their zip line too.  I had some readers ask where it was from, when I posted a videos on my Insta-stories the other day.  As soon as I find out, I’ll let you know.

I hope y’all are having a great week!  It’s already starting to warm up here, and I’m pretty excited about it!  70s by the weekend!  Woohoo!

  1. We did the Fourth of July celebration at the USS Yorktown two years ago. The weather was terrible but the venue, party and view of the fireworks was amazing! Highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

    1. Oh fun! We’ll have to look into that for the 4th! They also have a big Top Gun party too! Everyone dresses up.
