Wednesday Whereabouts: Christmas Festivities! + A House Update

Three weeks after moving in, aside from some missing furniture, we hosted our first dinner party in our new house with some of our good friends, that are now neighbors!  Would you believe that Lanier and I have been married for over 13 years and this is the first time we’ve ever used our fine china, silver and crystal from our wedding?  Our house in Charlotte wasn’t big enough to store it anywhere in the house and we never felt like getting it out when we were in the rental, so it was exciting to finally get to use it all!

I had some of you ask about our starburst pieces.  We used to have them on our mantle in our old house, but thought they’d be perfect as centerpieces.  Actually, I can’t take credit.  One of my friends suggested it and they looked great!

Having the best time!  Got the little reindeer headbands here.  Wore this dress.

A fun sparkly black called Coalmates.

Last week, my friend Natalie hosted her annual Christmas Party.  It’s been way too long since I’ve seen these girls, but as always we picked up right where we left off and had so much fun!

Her food spread is always top notch, beautifully displayed and so delicious!

These cute and tiny cupcakes are from Sugar Bake Shop.

Vaughn was so proud of his little gingerbread house…and naturally wanted to eat it all!

Love Christmas in Charleston!

Yesterday, I chaperoned Effie’s field trip to the Dock Street Theater.  The Junie B. Jones play was cute, but Effie said she wished they would’ve changed sets and costumes.  Still so fun to hang out with her and her cute classmates. // Wearing these earrings, these sunnies and my top is a Lilly Elsa from about five years ago (similar here).

Last night, Lanier and I headed out to our friend’s annual Friendsmas Party.  My friend Jane always outdoes herself!

Let’s just say the dishes were super easy to clean.  All of us ate every single bite.

Ended the evening with the most delicious birthday cake.

House Update

This is the tile we ended up picking out for our backsplash.  We didn’t want it too white, since our cabinets have a little yellow to them.

We also wanted a different tile floor in our powder room and decided on this one.

We had a little setback with the tile floor.  They accidentally ordered this one above which wasn’t the same as the tile we picked out.  But the new tile arrived last week, so I’m anxiously waiting for it to be installed.
