Wednesday Whereabouts

Crammed in as much fun time as we could last week, before school started back!

My ‘welcome back crew’ after my run!

Sweet Vaughn at his kindergarten orientation last week. // Dress // Sandals

Hot or not, the kids have been insisting on making a trip to the USS Yorktown this summer.  We finally checked it off the list.  They seriously know this place like the back of their hands and always have the best time.  They’ve also updated it with new technology and more interactive areas, which they loved!

Wheeler asked to take a pic of her 10 years with the “10.”

Love that they get to climb and play it on like a big playground!  And yes, that’s the actual bridge through the window.  Looks fake!

One of my besties from Charlotte was in town staying out at IOP.  We were so happy that it worked out we got to see them on their visit! // Wearing these sunnies.

She’s due mid-October and I’m so jealous she gets to have a new one at home!

When your kids steal your phone, when you’re trying to talk to their teachers on Orientation Night…

What I Wore

Top // Shorts (currently 50% off, making them only $24.99!) // Flip Flops // Crossbody

Another surprise greeting after one of my runs.

Jack {Sparrow} the Great Dane.  Only 4 months old and just as sweet as she could be!

Loved that the pirates named each of the kids!  Walk the Plank Wheeler, Explorer Effie, Lightning Logan and Vicious Vaughn.

If you have littles and haven’t done this Pirate Adventure, it’s a MUST!  I’m kicking myself for not doing it a few years ago, when all four would’ve been the perfect age.  At 10, Wheeler still enjoyed it and they did a great job of incorporating the older kids to play along, but if yours are around 5-7, that’s the perfect age.  Mine are STILL talking about it!  It’s 1 1/2 hours long and parents join too.  It’s out of Bohicket Marina and the kids’ attention is kept the entire time.  Trust me, there’s never a dull moment.  They tell you you’re allowed to bring drinks and snacks, but honestly they did so many activities aboard the boat that they barely had enough time to sip on water.  If interested, they also host birthday party adventures too!

Some much-needed refreshment after battling bad pirates!

How cute is this Darlin’ sweatshirt?

Saturday was a fabulous boat day with awesome weather!  A view of the Battery on our ride.

Lanier’s Shirt & Hat // My Long-Sleeve Hoodie

Digging to China!

Stopped by Brown Fox Coffee over the weekend.  Their Iced Loco Coco is the best!

Out to lunch after church! // Wearing these earrings.

Wheeler has been wanting to hit with me this summer, so we finally got some time to do it.  It was pretty hot, but she did a great job!  Love her confidence!

How sweet is this little house she made?  She got each of her siblings to draw pics of themselves and put plastic over each square to make it look like windows.  Love how creative she is!

Wore this dress to church on Sunday.  The same one as the yellow I’ve been wearing recently.  Just loved it so much that I wanted it in white too.  Not too fitted, which I love. // Paired it with these sandals that have been on repeat!

All in all, I think we had a pretty fabulous week leading up to the first day of school!  As for school, their first few days have been fine.  No homework yet, so I think that’s been keeping them hopeful that they may never have it.  Yeah…right!

Hope y’all are having a great week so far!

Sidenote: Effie has been begging to wear her maxi dress she’s wearing in the pic above ALL summer long.  I scored it during the Lilly Sale back in January and kept telling her she couldn’t wear it because she had to grow a little more so it wouldn’t drag on the ground.  Well, she tried it on on Sunday before church and it finally fit!

In case you missed yesterday’s post, I shared a little bit about each of the kiddos.  Check it out here.
