Wednesday Whereabouts

Last Friday evening, the kiddos and I headed over to ‘Cookies and Cocoa with Santa’ at My Gym South Park.  They had the best time running around and playing, then getting to chat with Santa again (okay, only W agreed to sit with him again), and then we finished off the evening with cookies and hot chocolate.  I think little L had the best time of all, getting to crawl and explore every nook of that place!

Still can’t get over how much W and L look alike!
E, saying goodbye (and good riddance) to Santa.
W, enjoying her candy cane.  E doesn’t eat them.  She says they’re “too spicy.”
I’m wearing my Patagonia Better Sweater.
One of the best and easiest jackets to throw on when heading out the door!
On Saturday, W attended a birthday party, and was very entertained by all the animals.  While I loved watching her excitement, my stomach dropped every time he brought a snake out.  Still hate them.  And the man asked if anyone wanted to stick their head into an alligator’s mouth…W was the only volunteer.
I had no idea the party was animal-themed, but my outfit sure fit the occasion.

Yesterday, we visited my grandfather, and he finally got to meet Little V!  As I already explained to those of you who follow me on Instagram (sweetsouthernprep), it was kind of a bittersweet moment, since my grandmother passed away earlier this year, and wasn’t there to meet him, too.

Snowflake, the Tarheel fan, didn’t come to visit the girls yesterday, as they were naughty little girls on Monday, mostly because they weren’t listening to their mother.  He’ll be back today, after they wrote letters to him, telling him to tell Santa they were sorry and that they’d try and get back on the nice list, by obeying their Mama.  Here’s hoping it worked!  They sure straightened their acts yesterday, hoping he’d make a return today.
Happy Wednesday, Y’all!
I’m off this morning to chaperone a trip with W’s class, to see The Littlest Angel at the theater.
And little E has Pajama Day at school.  Should be fun!

  1. Ashley,

I love love love your blog!! Today I loved that your kids wrote letters to Santa via Snowflake. In the early 90s long before Elf of the Shelf, Santa used to send my brother and me faxes from the North Pole to my dad's office when we were on the "naughty" list. It worked like a charm every time. My mom was ahead of the curve on this trend.
