Storing My Memories + Running Stats + Tory Burch Private Sale

Happy Monday!  I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was pretty productive, prepping for back-to-school in a week, and getting the house organized.  We did squeeze in a fun boat day on Saturday which is always the best!  And I got to snuggle my friend’s preemie on Friday afternoon, so you know I was in heaven!  Can’t wait to share more pics with you on this week’s Wednesday Whereabouts!
Storing My Memories
So it’s no secret that I take a lot of pictures.  Like I ran out of room on my phone and have had to take my photos through Instagram since probably late May.  Did you know that worked?  If you run out of room and your camera app won’t let you take anymore pics, you can still take them through Instagram and it still saves them to your photos without having to publish them to Instagram.
Up until November, I used to save my iPhone pics to my iMac, but then it even reached its limit and it wouldn’t let me upload anymore either.  I then purchased an external hard drive to store my pics from my iMac, but now every time I try to access them, when I click on a photo, everything freezes.  It kind of freaks me out.  So I basically haven’t had access to those 30,000+ photos since November.  I realize that’s a ton of photos, but keep in mind, that’s over a long period of time, including four baby’s births and lots of birthdays, holidays, etc.  I’ll work on accessing those pics at a later date, but for the time being, the priority was on my phone.  I needed more space!
Enter Dropbox and Carousel.  My friend that came in town for a few days last week finally convinced me to use it, and I feel like I have a whole new phone now.  After transferring all of my photos and videos to Dropbox (which took a few days), I have now freed up 18GB of space on my iPhone and I can still access them on my phone just as easily via the Carousel app.  If you happen to be in the same boat as I am, I’d highly recommend it.  I was obviously a little apprehensive at first, but now I’m so glad I did it!  Now I can video more and take better ‘real time’ pics, rather than the delayed photos via Instagram.
Another perk is that you can upload the Dropbox app on any of your devices, and access your pics anywhere.  So now I can view my photos on my phone, laptop and iMac.  Can you tell I’m just a little excited about this?
Running Stats
I didn’t run as often this week, but four days isn’t too shabby.  And I must tell you that my new kicks are amazing!  I absolutely love the support and I swear I’m running at least a minute or two faster now.
Tory Burch just announced their Private Sale which will run until Friday, August 14th!
This sale has a slew of good stuff, but it’s all selling out pretty quickly.

  1. I have Dropbox & LOVE it but did you then delete all the pics off your phone? I'm scared to do that but I'm out of storage on iCloud. Thanks!! Stephanie

    1. I did delete them. I almost needed a hand to hold when I did it, but it really did work! They're all stored in Dropbox and Carousel. Very easily accessible in Carousel. It looks almost exactly like your regular photo album.

    2. Hi Ashley! Was there a way to delete your photos in bulk? I am taking your advice and have downloaded Dropbox and Carousel. But now I have to delete tons of photos to free up space on my phone (so it will work again!). Any suggestions?

    3. If you go to Carousel and click the check at the top of a certain story it'll highlight all of them from that story. Then you can go back through and uncheck the ones that you don't want to delete out of that story. That definitely helps you with time.

  2. Great post. I was pretty excited when I saw the Tory Burch sales email and quickly looked thru the shoe section. I expect they will go quick. Sadly I won't be getting anything but only cuz I already havea pair of most of the flats on sales, haha!
