Tops I’m Loving This Season

Whether it’s winter white or holiday red, there are so many tops that I’m loving this season.  In less than two weeks, winter will arrive!  Can you believe it?  I know in other parts of the US, many of you have seen snow already.  Lucky you!  We rarely get any here in the South.  Although I will say that we did see it in Charleston last winter.  It wasn’t enough to build a snowman, but seeing it fall from the sky was enough to get us excited!  Here’s hoping it snows again here.  Even if it’s just once, it’s worth it.

This weekend we’re expected to have pretty low temps, but unfortunately no precipitation to go with it.  Every year they have a boat parade where boats are decorated with fun lights and colors.  We were so excited to take the boat out and anchor up and watch it.  But sadly, it’s going to be too cold for that.  It’s hard to believe that the same time last year, it was close to 80 degrees during the boat parade.  Luckily, on Sunday night, the regular Christmas parade will still go on, and we loved it last year!   I mean, how many parades do you go to where they shoot off fireworks to start a parade?  Can’t wait!

Gold Clutch (33% off; already sold out most places, love it for the holidays, or honestly for any evening out) // Sparkle Clutch (this one’s a lower price point and would be so pretty for an evening out too) // Floral Clutch (talk about a statement piece, love the intricate detail on this one) // Lattice Beaded Clutch (the beadwork is gorgeous, and it’s just under $100)

As I posted my favorite holiday dresses and clutches on Tuesday’s post, I’m sharing my favorite tops with you today.

First up, is this sweater I wore out on Wednesday night.  The length is perfect!  The back even goes down a little more to cover your rear.  Huge plus!  And it seriously is the softest sweater!  I chose grey, but I’m already thinking of what color to order next!  For sizing, it fits true to size.  I’m wearing a small.

Next is this bow cardigan.  You could honestly layer it over any solid color and it would be perfect!  I paired mine with a black tee, to play up my necklace and make the color pop.  And again with these nude flats.  I seriously wear them all the time!  For fit, they’re true to size.  My lips are Smashbox Publicist Matte.

There are just so many tops that I’m loving at Nordstrom.  They always have such a wide range of items to shop, at all different price points.  And their customer service is hands down the absolute BEST!  Scroll through to check out more of my favorite tops below…

I just ordered this top!  It’s new at Nordstrom, but I have a feel it won’t last long!

Planning on pairing it with these red ombre earrings for the holidays.  If you’ve been reading awhile, you’ll know I’m not a huge fan of dangly earrings.  I don’t like anything too heavy pulling my ears down.  But these drop earrings are surprisingly light!  I wore them out on Wednesday night, and they never felt heavy at all.  These would make great gifts too!

Lanier’s been out of town since Monday for work.  He gets back this afternoon and I’m so excited!  We’ve got a date night and are heading to see White Christmas at the Dockstreet Theater.  Lanier’s never really been into broadway, but I’m obsessed.  And once a year he concedes and takes me.  My favorite song is Sisters.  I bet you can’t guess why!  Can’t wait!

I know I mentioned on Wednesday’s post that I would share pics of the Jubilee with you yesterday.  I’m so sorry that the post didn’t go live, like it was supposed to.  I had no idea.  I’ll be sure and include them in tomorrow’s post, along with another Holiday Gift Guide, for the men.  I’ll also share all of my gift guides so far, in case you need some ideas if you’re shopping this weekend.

I’m off to get my hair colored and then the boys have a karate demonstration today.  I’ve heard it’s the cutest thing.  I don’t want Wheeler and Effie to miss it, so I’m pulling them out of school a little early so they can see it too!

TGIF, Y’all!

Thanks to Nordstrom for their partnership on this post.

  1. Please don’t take this the wrong way–I would change your lipstick color and go not so blonde for the fall/winter. It’s so summer –it’s just too harsh and out of season for your winter wardrobe. It would look so much better. I always appreciate when my girlfriends or sisters give me advice like this so again I hope your not insulted. Especially when you have a blog and are trying to give recommendations!

    Have a great holiday season!

      1. So funny bc I was just thinking how pretty you look! Your hair and lip color look great on you! xo

    1. I agree. I like your hair a little darker. You’re a real stunner – just not the most optimal color.

  2. Thanks for posting about that cowlneck sweater! I’ve been eyeing it as an off the shoulder option, but there were mixed reviews. What do you think of the fit for OTS?

    1. I tried it that way too, and it looks great! I just end up doing too much with my arms and any off-the-shoulder top starts sliding up on me. I’d rather be more comfortable in a different style. 😉

  3. Love your hair in the first picture! Gorgeous! I wish I could style my hair with those beautiful waves.

  4. I love your hair and I always think you look stunning ! Blonde hair in the fall/winter is gorgeous ! Your blog is one of my favorite 🙂 I had never shopped at Nordstrom’s until I found your fabulous blog. Happy Weekend !
