Thirsty Thursday: SkinnyGirl Margarita

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been watching too much Bethenny Getting Married (love that show, by the way!) or that I’m sad I can’t enjoy my usual chips and salsa (I’ve still got my temporary cap for another week), but I’ve really been wanting to try Bethenny’s SkinnyGirl Margarita.  Have any of you tried it?  I’m usually the one to order a margarita at Mexican places, but I’d love to save some calories, while enjoying the drink too!

Here’s Bethenny’s recipe:

  • Fresh lime juice (about 1 tbsp.) and wedges for garnish
  • 2 oz. white tequila (100 percent agave is very important–Patron Silver is my favorite)
  • A tiny splash of triple sec, Grand Marnier or Cointreau (about 1 tsp.)
  • Fresh lime juice (about 1 tbsp.) and wedges for garnish
2 oz. white tequila (Patron Silver is her favorite)
Tiny splash of Cointreau or Grand Marnier
    Ice

Rim the glass with salt, add ice.  Add 2 ounces of white tequila, the juice of four lime wedges, and a splash of Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Triple Sec.  It’s that simple!

And while I imbibe, I’d love to be wearing this!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!

    1. A friend of mine has family in Ohio & tracked it down there while visiting recently. She thought it was really good & would definitely recommend it. You can't seem to get it in the Charlotte area right now…hopefully soon.

    2. Love that show and Bethenny too! I just get such a kick out of how totally candid she is! That's my kinda girl! Love those earrings by the way!

    3. My Inlaws lived in Mexico for a few years when Brendan was in college and his Mom always makes them with fresh lime juice. She said that that is the way a real margarita is made. So I started making them that way and adding a little splenda to sweeten it up a little. I can't wait to have a margarita. That is the only drink I have missed in the past year and a half…

    4. I've read about the "Skinny Margarita," but have never given it a try. I don't know why? I have all the ingredients in the house. Perhaps this weekend. Sounds so delicious.

I love the earrings! I just might have to buy those.

      Happy Thursday!

    5. I've never tried a skinny girl margarita, but I've been wanting to! I have a full stock of Baja Bob's zero calorie margarita mix and it's amazing! But this sounds great and easy (and cheaper)!

    6. I've never made one of her margs, but a girlfriend bought me a bottle of the mix and it was fantastic! Didn't taste "diet" at all 🙂

    7. I have yet to try any of the Skinny Girl products, although I own her first cookbook. May have to try one soon, though. Sounds delish!

    8. It all looks wonderful and that skinny girl martini is something I could enjoy. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings…Mary

    9. Think I may have to see if the mexican restaurant we're celebrating my birthday at tonight can make these … maybe I can indulge in more than one margarita this way 🙂
