Thirsty Thursday: New Year’s Sparkler

With all of the leftover champagne you’ve probably got in the fridge (myself included), I thought maybe you could try another yummy champagne cocktail recipe this week.  The drink this week is courtesy of the Intoxicologist.  If interested, she has a slew of other delicious recipes, with bubbly as the main ingredient.

New Year’s Sparkler

1 ounce SKYY Infusions Passion Fruit

1-1/2 ounce Pomegranate Juice

3-1/2 ounce Champagne

5-6 Fresh Raspberries Garnish

Place vodka and juice in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to chill. Strain into chilled champagne flute.  Top with champagne.  Garnish with skewered raspberries placed vertically into champagne glass.  I made a similar one of these drinks for the adults at W’s 2nd Birthday two summers ago, and named it the Ladybug Cocktail…I didn’t add the SKYY Passion Fruit though…I’ll have to remember that for next time.

Well, it’s been over a year since I’ve updated my Sweet Southern Prep Facebook page.  Honestly, I completely forgot about it!  Feel free to click here to “Like” it.  My plan is to let y’all know on my Facebook page, as soon as a new post is up.  And I set up a Twitter account, as well.  It’s @SweetSouthPrep.  It’s also on my sidebar, if you’re interested in following.

Yesterday, the photos I posted were from Maine.  Congrats, Dee, for guessing it correctly!  The one of the flags and beach were in Scarborough and the other was from Portland.  Maine is a beautiful state.  I’ve also visited Acadia National Park on a previous trip, and hope to get back up there with the children some day.  It’s a great place for a family vacation.

Tomorrow, I’m posting my make-up routine, and products I use.
Do you have any tried and true favorites?

  1. That cocktail looks delicious!! I wear Dior makeup and my "can't do without" product is the Skinflash Radiance Booster – it is a little pen that works miracles! If I'm in a hurry, I sweep some of that under my eyes and a little translucent powder. I'm on twitter too! follow me @ table4oneblog

  2. That drink sounds delicious.

I am obsessed with Tazorac (prescription Retin-A). It works wonders. I also love Dandelion by Benefit, Lip Fusion, and 100% Pure Nourishing Oil. Actually, I have a lot of products I love. Like Colorescience, too! I am a product junkie! My newest obsession – my Clairsonic!

Can't wait to hear what you love.

  3. Retin-A is the bomb! I am hoping to look 28 forever (wink). I also can't live without my Obagi oil. My friend is a plastic surgeon and he says it is the best thing you can use. I got a clarisonic mia for Christmas and haven't used it…do I want to stick with Mia or should I switch out for the pro with 3 speeds. Opinions?
