Thirsty Thursday: Chocolate Malted Martini + More Saks Sale Favorites

With Halloween right around the corner, this one sure sounded yummy.  Chocolate Milks for the kids, Chocolate Martinis for the adults…

Chocolate Malted Martini
Serves: 1
Ingredients
3tbsp Vodka
1tbsp Chocolate Syrup
1tbsp Chocolate Malt Powder (such as Ovaltine)
1tbsp Half and Half
2 Dashes Chocolate Bitters (optional)
Directions
In a martini shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, chocolate syrup, malt powder, half and half, and bitters.  Shake vigorously, then strain into a glass.

So, the kiddos and I headed to the pumpkin patch this past Tuesday (I’ll share more photos of the day, next week).  But I thought you’d enjoy seeing some photos of W and E at this place, during the same month, over the last couple of years…

Neat, right?  But y’all, my children are seriously growing up way too fast, and it makes me sad…probably one of the main reasons why I take an absurd amount of photos, even back BEFORE camera phones, as you can tell.  I want to capture so many special moments.
I know my Frye Paige Boots that I featured on Monday aren’t available during the Shopbop sale, but there are many more Frye styles available, with the 25% off.  Hurry though, the Shopbop sale ends tonight, and only a few more sizes of the above style are available.  These booties are perfectly weathered and the right height.  They’d look great paired with leggings/skinny jeans and/or a long top or dress.  You could get away with wearing them with black and grey too.  Enter code: INTHEFAMILY25 at check-out.
An SSP reader emailed yesterday, and asked if I’d do a collage of my favorites from the Saks Friends & Family Sale, like I did with Shopbop yesterday.  How could I turn that request down, especially with all the Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade on sale?  Take 25% off everything, with code: FRNFAM.
1. Lilly Pulitzer Tabitha Dress in Pansy Purple
This dress was $378, already marked down to $151, with an additional 25% off, making it $113.
2. Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top in Tide Blue
If you’ve ever wanted to own an Elsa (the perfect go-to blouse, you can dress up or down, trust me, I have quite the collection), but didn’t want to pay full-price for it, now’s your chance.  Click here, to see the one I wore last Sunday night.
Was $248, Marked down to $99, now only $74.

4. Lilly Pulitzer Turner Dress in Mambo Pink
LOVE the color of this dress.

5. Lilly Pulitzer Rhea Dress in True Navy (also available in black)
I know I’ve posted about this dress before, but it’s such a classic!  I’ve heard they’re having a hard time keeping this one in stock.

If you’ve been reading my blog for sometime, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with these bow studs.  I think every time she comes out with a new color, I get it.  My last ones I purchased were green (on sale too!) , and they’re perfect!  Planning on wearing them with so much over the holidays!

I purchased these during Tory Burch’s sale last week, and I’ve been wearing them a lot lately, actually planning on wearing them tomorrow too.  The gold simplicity of them goes with everything.

Hunter Rain Boots are included in the 25% off sale too.  I’m loving this Dark Ruby color.  I already have them in black, but what’s another fun pop of color to add to the collection?
And I leave you with this…or these, actually…
I know y’all have seen these Kate Spade Studs in a million of my OOTDs, but seriously, they are by far my FAVORITE pair of studs.  The photos never do them justice.  Trust me, they’re perfect to wear dressed up or down. I mean I sometimes wear them with t-shirts and pajama pants (probably because I left them on from the day before…).  Anyway, I’m always receiving compliments on them, and people are always so surprised when I tell them how much they are.  Alright, enough with that, oh, and they’re included on Saks’ Friends & Family Sale.  Use code: FRNFAM.  Normally $48, Now $36. Just sayin’…

Happy Thursday!

  1. Question, do you know to keep your Hunters from getting chalky? Or how to gloss them back after they've turned? I need to call Nordys and ask!!

    1. I think they have a spray you can use, but I've never tried it. I know a lot of people who aren't big fans of the chalk, but mine are the non-glossy kind anyway, so the chalk doesn't bother me.
