Effie let her little aphids go last week. Wheeler did this last year in kindergarten, and Effie’s been waiting her turn ever since!
Celebrating a friend’s birthday last week at Taco Boy! Couldn’t turn that down!
Meeting Eddie Ross was so much fun, at his book signing and soirée last week, hosted by Tara Guérard. You will love his book,
Modern Mix! Get it
here.
Afterward, Lanier and I headed out to dinner with my friend
Caycee and her husband Todd at Michael’s on the Alley. I got the shrimp and grits as my entree which was delicious, but I sure loved the chopped salad too!
Lanier and I headed next door to Charleston Music Hall to watch Houndmouth, after dinner. Lanier has always had a love for music, and has a lot of favorite bands, and this one was one of them. We loved the venue. Such a great small space. Not a bad seat in the house! Unfortunately, the girl in the bad left recently, so while it was still a great performance, it wasn’t the same without her.
Couldn’t help but snap a pic of these beautiful blooms lining the picket fence at Poe’s Restaurant last week, right before lunch.
Love my sweet girls!
As I mentioned last week we headed home to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday over the weekend.
My sisters (minus one who was running a half-marathon in Nashville) organized a brunch at the Gallery to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The husbands and my dad all stayed at their house and watched the kids.
We gave my mom a massage gift card and this book we created, “60+ Reasons We Love You.” We each included ten personal reasons why we loved my mom. She loved it!
This wedge salad was insanely good!
One of my sisters’ actual birthday was on Saturday. The restaurant brought out these yummy cheesecakes to help us celebrate!
The cousins all loved being together! Vaughn kissing the youngest cousin.
My mom reading to Effie and one of my nephews.
We left early on Sunday morning to head home, so I could get back for a tennis round robin and fundraiser for Meals on Wheels.
A pro announced during the event that they had to change their sign soon. Wild Dunes was recently bumped from #3 to #2 in the world on tennisresortsonline.com!
It was a pretty overcast day, but thankfully it never rained!
Such a fun time!
Yesterday was an aquarium day. Vaughn still loves visiting more than ever! He always starts with the outside portion where he can touch the stingrays!
Saying hello to the otters!
Waving to his scuba diver friends.
While we were enjoying lunch outside, we heard a huge roll of thunder. We had no idea it was coming because the clouds were behind us on the other side of the building. Thankfully, we packed up our things and headed quickly to the parking deck (about three blocks away), before the clouds dumped tons of rain behind us!
I’ll sure be sad when these morning dates with Vaughn end this Fall. I love our one-on-one time together!
I love the beautiful blooms lining the fence of Poe's Restaurant !!! Beautiful 🙂
