Our Staycation at Hotel Bennett: Part One

Over the weekend, we had the most magical time staying downtown at the beautiful Hotel Bennett!

As soon as we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the sweetest treats and messages!  This pretty dessert is called the Camellia Cake.  It’s light lemon-almond sponge, layered with strawberry marmalade and velvety cheesecake mousse, glazed with pink chocolate and capped with a teeny macaron.  Yum!

The children devoured the delicious treats!

The children were so excited to get away, even if it was a staycation only about 15 minutes away!  Lanier and I were too!

Checking out the scenes below on King Street.

How beautiful are all the rooms?  As were unpacking, I kept thinking I’d have no problem if we stayed a week, rather than just a few days.  Everything was just beautiful.  Oh, and I definitely took advantage of that tub while we were there!  The girls did too.

As soon as we walked in, the children were mesmerized by this chocolate masterpiece that Chef Remy created.  Aside from the teddy bear’s bow, everything is made entirely of chocolate, totaling 18 pounds of confectioner’s sugar and 48 pounds of chocolate.

After we enjoyed a little downtime after checking in, we headed out to my birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant in all of Charleston, The Obstinate Daughter.  I had a lot of you ask about the girls’ coats.  They’re a few years old by Crewcuts.

My mask comes in a 3-pack.  The one Logan is wearing comes in a 3-pack as well.

Always the Marsh Hen Frites and Farro Piccolo.

Baba’s on Cannon, another fabulous restaurant downtown, was visiting The Obstinate Daughter that night and brought the most amazing truffles.  We topped our ricotta gnocchi with it and it was divine!  We also finished off not one, but two pizzas and another pasta dish.  I don’t think we had a single leftover that night!

We ended the evening with some delicious desserts, but my favorite was this one.  Lanier and the kids sang happy birthday to me when it arrived and I just couldn’t have been happier and just so very blessed!

Aside from the amazing atmosphere, the friendliest staff and most delicious food, I love that my kids devour everything as quickly as I do!

The girls loved visiting The Pink Room, Camellia’s, when we got back to the hotel.

I’m so thankful that we all got to celebrate my birthday together!  Truly a magical day!  Wore this dress and these earrings.  The girls are wearing these dresses.

I took so many photos that I wanted to share, that I couldn’t include them all in one post.  Head over here for Part Two of our staycation!
