5 New Dresses and Why I’m Loving Them + OOTD

Yesterday was our last tennis match of the season.  I’ve been playing singles this season, but yesterday I played doubles and we won 6-2, 6-2.  It was a great way to finish out the season, but I’m still sad that it’s over.  Hoping to play on another league in the near future.  We played our last match at The Citadel, where my dad went to college.  It was fun knowing that he’d played on the same courts all those years ago.
Had some time to do a little shopping before picking up the boys at school.  This block is probably one of my favorites, J.Crew and to the right of it is Anthropologie.  The girls have a make-up day today, otherwise our Spring Break would’ve already started.  But after school, it finally begins!  I’ve been organizing and cleaning out all week, in order to finally pack for our Spring Break trip today.
Yesterday, I picked out some new dresses that will be coming along on our trip.

**Remember, you can click on most of my items in my images to shop or links below.**

I’m a big fan of finding a certain style I like, and getting it in another color if it comes out again in a later season.  This coverup is absolutely one of those styles.  I’ve had the turquoise one for a few years now and still enjoy wearing it.  When I saw that it came out in this pretty deep purplish blue color this year, I knew I wanted to order it.  It also comes in black and white.

I found this pic of me in the turquoise one from 2 1/2 years ago!  Also shown is my Hayden-Reis ‘Sunscreen’ Pouch.
If you’ve been reading awhile, just like my love for Lilly, I also have a major crush on Mara Hoffman.  I was so excited when I saw that she debuted this colorful rainbow swing dress.  I love this style of hers so much, so soft and swingy with pockets.  It fits true to size.  I wear a small in it.

It reminds me a lot of this swing dress by Mara that I wore last summer, but a different color placement.  Both vibrant and fun.  A perfect dress that will carry me all the way through summer.  Paired here with this Gigi New York Monogrammed Uber Clutch and these wedges.

Through the weekend, Gigi New York is offering free personalization and free shipping on all order over $125!  These make great gifts!  Think Easter, graduation, Mother’s Day, etc.  Hint, hint.  Lots of colors and styles to choose from!

I knew this Lilly Pulitzer Monterey Dress was definitely a MUST.  After having had this Canvas Tote in the same print, as soon as they came out with it in this dress style, I ordered it as soon as I could.  I have a few dresses in this style from last summer and absolutely LOVE this style.  The fabric is heavier than you think, but in a good way.  It’s super soft and comfortable, and it has that swing that I love.

Here’s a pic of me wearing the Monterey last year with my dad.  I wore it around town, but also as a cover-up too.  For fit, it does run a little big, but I still went with a small.  I’m 5’6″ and rarely like dresses that are too short, and this dress hit me at such a great spot, right above my knee.  It looks short on the model, but I think this model is probably really tall.
I’ve definitely posted about this Old Navy Dress before.  I cannot say enough good things about this dress.

I’m actually wearing it today!  For fit, I have it in a small, so I feel like it runs true to size.  Hurry though, this style is selling out quickly, especially that it’s only $15 right now.  Other colors available, as well.

For as much as I love the Pink Chicken line, imagine my surprise when they debuted a line at Target called Happy.  Wheeler’s ice cream dress is part of that line and it’s on sale for $19.50!  Wheeler’s wearing her turquoise Natives and Effie’s got on her pink ones.

And last but not certainly not least, to round out my new favorite Spring Break-worthy dresses, I bring you my favorite styled dress, the sleeveless shirtdress by Mara Hoffman.  Y’all, I seriously am obsessed with this style.  Whenever she comes out with a new print in this style, I’m anxious to see it.  These have become an ever-growing collection in my closet, and I kind of love it.  I can see myself wearing these dresses for years to come.  They’re just fun to wear anywhere, from a beachy locale to a night out or even just around town.  Even in the chillier months, I just toss on a cardigan and it worked so well.  It runs a little big, but I still like how the small fit.  This one above looked like it could potentially be see-through, but I paired it with a nude bra and you can’t see it.

As for what else I’m packing, you know you’ll see a few of these looks from Tuesday’s post featuring my ‘Spring Uniform’, as well as some new swimsuits and coverups.

J.Crew Buffalo Check Popover (I’m always a fan of their popovers!) // Vince Camuto Pink Off the Shoulder (If I was going to try and off-the-shoulder, I’d go for this one.  The straps are nice to have for support, and they’re also subtle and thin.) // J.Crew Silk Sleeveless Top (for a dressier occasion) // J.Crew Vintage Cotton Tank // Lilly Pulitzer Michele Top // Eyelet Short // White Short // Navy Short // Leopard Short (for a dressier look) // Light Periwinkle Gingham Short // J.Crew Fringed (25% off with code: SHOPMORE) // Tory Burch Gold Miller // Jack Rogers Whipstitched // Rebecca Minkoff Georgina // K. Jacques Epicure (I’m an 8.5 and wear a 39 in these) // Sam Edelman Gigi

Jack Rogers has currently marked down all of their pastel Jacks until midnight, and shipping is free!  I loved every single color, but ended up going with the lilac ones and I absolutely love them!  I’m wearing them today with my new Old Navy Dress.  This style is made with the new rubber bottoms that Jack Rogers just created, and they’re much softer than their previous styles.  They also have more traction, so you don’t slide as much as you used to with the older style.  I do have the light blue ones too, from a few years ago.  Hoping to wear them tomorrow, if our Carolina Tarheels pull out a win tonight!
Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!  We’ve got an exciting trip in store for Spring Break!  Hoping to share where we’ll be for the next week tomorrow!

TGIF, Y’all!
