Happy Saturday! Effie is having her birthday party this morning, and we cannot wait to celebrate her big day. Her actual birthday is on Monday, the 16th. Speaking of “birth” days, my sister had her second baby boy on Thursday and we are so excited to meet him in a few weeks! Love love love newborn babies! She named him Knox and he’s the tiniest little thing. Well, not necessarily tiny at over 8 pounds, but tiny compared to all of my children. Alright, back to Effie’s big day. Puppies and pink. That’s all she requested. I have no doubt she’s going to love her party, especially with all of her girlfriends in attendance and Perri Poppins hosting it! It’s safe to say that the weather is much better than the last birthday party we threw, for Logan and Vaughn, with pouring rain and flood warnings around the city. But we sure made the most of it!
For this party, I’ll be coming armed with my new camera that I’ve finally had time to play around with over the past few days. In all honesty, I’ve had it about two months and kept saying I’d get it out and play with it, but never took the time to do it. Now that I did, I’m absolutely loving it! Also, can I say it took me forever to figure out which one to get? Just like the hunt for my beloved riding boots that I got last year, it was well worth the wait. And the shopping around paid off!
I’ve had a Canon for about 6 years, but it was a really old model and probably haven’t even used in at least two years. I wanted something newer, something that could capture video, as well as take really good pictures. After trying it out, I think it’s safe to say that this camera is exactly what I was looking for. If you’re looking for one, especially now that it’s right around the holidays, I’d get this one. Here are two pics below that I’ve taken with it. So clear! One difficulty I had with just using my iPhone all the time, is that my indoor pictures would come out so blurry without the flash, and too bright when I’d use the flash. These pics look amazing inside, and I didn’t even have to use the flash. Plus, it focuses the images in front so well!

The best deal I could find for you on my Canon T6i was on Amazon, here. As you’ll notice, I only ordered the body. As far as lens, one of my good friends recommended this Sigma one, and it’s amazing! If you want the Canon T6i with the body and Canon lens, get it here. Also, let me clarify and say that I’m in no way a professional photographer, and have no idea how to use many of the options on my camera, but I plan to learn and read up on how to use them at some point. But that’s also why I decided on this one, because it’s pretty easy to use, compared to other ones that required you to know more.
How pretty are these pajamas by LAKE? And not only are they classic and amazing in color combos and style, but they’re also extremely soft and comfortable. Just a suggestion, but these would make great gifts too. Even my male readers, these would make fabulous gifts for the ladies in your lives. Hint, hint.
