Fashion Friday: Where I’ve Been + J.Crew Sale!

Last Thursday, we headed to the Greek Festival (a weekend’s fill of Greek food, fun rides and Greek dancing at a local Greek church here in Charlotte).  While we haven’t an ounce of Greek blood in our bodies, Scotch Irish on both sides, we try and attend the festival every year…and so do many other Charlotteans.  I’m always amazed at what kind of turn-out it brings every fall.  Parking can be a nightmare, but once you’re in, you’re in!

Like Olympic gymnast MaKayla, L was ‘not impressed’.
E was just a little freaked out by the gladiator.

Hamming it up for the camera…

What I wore…

Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top in Pink
Although, I’m currently loving the current Elsas in Blue and Black

J.Crew 3″ Chino Shorts in Navy
(currently an extra 30% off, with code: LOVEIT)

Tory Burch Spotty Tortoise Sunglasses

Next time, I’ll make sure and get the hubs to take a full shot of my outfit.  Sorry about that!

The hubs and his parents took the girls camping this past Saturday and Sunday.  The weather was perfect for it, and the girls had a blast!  They went on a 4-mile hike (without a single complaint from either of them), roasted marshamallows for s’mores, caught a fish, and fell asleep in sleeping bags in their tents under the stars.  Such troopers!  I would’ve loved to have gone, but I think L is a little too young to go camping just yet.  Plus, I had to be in town on Saturday to attend a friend’s baby shower.

About to head off on the camping trip.
 Arriving at the campground.
The girls hiking with their Grammy (the hubs’ mother).
W, showing E one of her many rocks she found.
Can you sense that E was just a little intrigued with W’s catch here??

And last, but certainly not least, Little L celebrated his FIRST birthday this past Sunday!  Still cannot believe he’s ONE!  We had a low-key party for him with burgers, cake and presents.  From the look on his face in many of these photos, I think he was pretty content with a semi-peaceful evening, without too much hoopla and celebrating.  The girls did the entertaining, and I think that was plenty enough excitement for him for one day.

L’s first day with a sippy cup.  No more formula.  No more bottles.
Couldn’t get E to look up at the camera for anything!
L was a little skeptical of the cake at first…
…but after the first taste, he had no problem diving right in!
By the end of it, he was spent!

Is anyone still enjoying their Nest Pumpkin Chai candle as much as I am?  I’ve received a great deal of emails thanking me for the recommendation.  It’s funny that so many of us probably have different aromas we enjoy, but this scent is universally the best out there!  If you haven’t orders yours yet, you’re truly missing out!  It’s completely worth every penny, and doesn’t do any other fall candle justice.  I’m serious!  I purchased mine at a local boutique here in Charlotte (Cottage Chic) – a big thanks to my friend, Lindsay, for letting me know her store carried them!  If you’re not in town, you can order yours HERE and HERE.

The hubs is off for a weekend in the wilderness to celebrate a friend’s birthday.  I’m sure some hunting and fishing will be involved.  A perfect weekend for it!  Our neighborhood has their Fall Fling, that the kiddos and I will be attending on Saturday.  Here’s hoping the weather is as beautiful as it was last Saturday.

Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend celebrating the beginning of the fall season!

P.S. The ever-popular J.Crew Bubble Necklace is an extra 30% off the sale price right now, on the colors: azalea pink (shown above), kelly green and brilliant blue (regularly $150, now only $84)!
Use the code LOVEIT, to take advantage of the deal!

I picked up this Perfect Shirt in green mini gingham for only $42, regularly $78.
I thought it’d look great by itself, or under a vest or sweater.  The fabric on these shirts is wonderful!  I also own the mini gingham in purple, as well as other perfect shirts from past seasons.  There’s a reason they’re called the “perfect shirt”.  The lighter fabric pink or yellow mini gingham Perfect Shirt is now only $28, regularly $75!

…and this Boatneck Tee for only $17!  Looks great with any statement necklace you pair it with!
I wear these tops a lot under my cardigan sweaters in the fall and winter.

I wish I wore an XXS or XS. This ZigZag Sequin Top is now only $70, regularly $138!

Also, loving this Nicky Top, regularly $98, now only $54!

TGIF, Y’all!
