Fashion Friday: Jeggings

Jeggings (Jeans/Leggings): Yay or Nay?  Around here, it’s hardly time to sport any kind of denim just yet, it’s still in the mid-80’s, but I’m trying to decide if I should attempt to wear these or not.  For one thing, they would look super cute with a tunic or blousey top, but forget tighter shirts.  I’m not sure I could pull them off that way.  Does that mean I should fore-go them?  What are your thoughts?  Any particular brand that’s a good one to try?  There are just so many choices out there!

Here are some jeggings that I’ve seen, shopping around…

What do you think?
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I’ll still be wearing summer clothes until this heat dies down!
Anything fun planned for you?
We may be attending a Fall Festival this afternoon.  If so, I’ll be sure and take pics to share!
TGIF!

  1. Oh, if jeggings are wrong, then I don't want to be right! I have a big ice skater booty and jeggings are the only way I can wear skinny jeans. And they're the most comfy things. I got mine at a store called Gilly Hicks, they're one of the Abercrombie brands but they sell shirts, undies and all sorts of comfy clothes….it's not a typical Abercrombie store at all!

  2. I will definitely be giving jeggings a try this Fall. I have a hard time finding jeans that are skinny enough to stay tucked into my boots without cutting off my circulation whenever I wear them. I tried a pair of Joes Jeans jeggings a few weeks ago and they were so incredibly comfortable that I am now sold! Have a great weekend 🙂

  3. I say try the jeggings! I think they would look great with a looser top! I hate when people wear them with really tight shirts. They would be great to wear with boots, easy to tuck-in!

Have a great Friday! Hope you have fun at the festival!

  4. Unfortunately, I'm not sure my body type is right for jeggings, unless they're worn with an oversized sweater or top…none of this waist length stuff, not for this girl, anyway! Hope you have fun at the Fall festival! It's hot as all get out here too, still wearing shorts and summer tees…ugh!

  5. I think I'll give them a try, too. I saw the cutest pair yesterday at a local boutique. Paired with a cute top and an awesome pair of boots, I think they would be fantastic.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. I worked at American Eagle over this past summer, and we were told to be SURE to tell people that were trying on our jeggings, that they needed to be worn with looser fitting tops to be flattering on every body type- and I totally agree with that. I bought a pair, and can't wait to pull some boots over those babies!

  7. If you aren't quite ready to take the plunge and spend over $100 on a pair, try IT JEANS Lola Jeggings – great dark wash and only $74 at Sugar.

We have plenty of 28 and 29s left but more on order, so sit tight. They should be here next week. Sizes 25-32. LOVE them with boots and long tunics, plus did I mention they are insanely comfortable. (ha, that's the best part!)

I had fun photographing your precious nephew yesterday. Your sister is so sweet – All you gals are!

  8. I picked up some jeggings at a Hollister sale last week for $27.. I figured if I'm not sure, I might as well try out a cheapy brand before I delve into a designer jeggings foray!

I think they'd look smashing on you! Luck!

  9. I think the jean leggings have to have the accouterments that regular pants do such as real back pockets, belt loops, etc… in order to look right. I think the ones with the elasticized waistbands look like odd maternity pants.

I have a pair of Levi's black "legging" pants that I love. They are great with everything but I'd never wear them with a tight top.

  10. I, for one, am too old to wear those. And living in Florida, it is never boot weather which is the only way I would vote to wear them…boots and a tunic.

  11. I bought a pair and I am super blessed in the backside department. I bought a dark pair and plan on pairing them with some plaid tunics and long cardigans.
