Easter Weekend Re-Cap

I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!  The weather here was beautiful.  Not too hot, not too cold, but just right.  During yesterday’s outdoor church service, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Simply breathtaking.
On Saturday, the girls and I headed over to a toy store where they had an Easter event going on.  I know the boys would’ve loved it too, but I didn’t feel like they were well enough yet.
Pretty girls with pretty braids.  Their dresses are old ones from The Plantation Shoppe.
Clay Rice creates amazing silhouettes, so I couldn’t resist letting the girls get theirs done.  Hopscotch Rabbit was there, and was kind enough to let the girls sit on her lap while they had their silhouettes created.  Pretty cool.  We also got him to sign his latest book, The Stick.  To be honest, we haven’t read it yet, but he said it’s up for a Benjamin Franklin Book Award.  Fingers crossed he wins!  We also have Mama, Let’s Make a Moon, and love it!
The girls were dying over this remote control little minion toy!
Saturday Spring Pastels
A gorgeous drive to the service.
The girls and I in our matching Lilly.  It’s hard to see it well, but I wore this Rosie Square Neck Shift Dress (also available here) and the girls wore these Little Lilly Shifts (also available here).  I had a few of you ask about the fit of my dress.  As many of you know, last year Lilly Pulitzer’s sizing was off.  It all ran really small, so it was hard to determine exactly what size you needed without trying it on first.  I’m happy to report that their sizing is better this season.  I’d say this dress runs true to size.  I’m usually a 6, and am wearing a 6 in this dress.  And you know my love for Saltwater Sandals.  Did you know you can put them in the dishwasher if they get really dirty?  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard it really works!
 Tickles!
Wheeler insisted on getting a photo with Logan and their Superheroes for Christ capes they made at church.  Love her tippy toes in this one.
We went to lunch at Boone Hall Farms.  If you haven’t been yet, you should try it.  It’s so good!  And the store there is pretty neat too.  They carry everything from boiled peanuts to tomato basil foccaccia bread.
And of course we couldn’t leave without a banana split.
These kiddos crack me up!  Poor Vaughn in that second one.  He was done at this point and ready for a much-needed nap!
All in all, I think we had a pretty awesome Easter.  I will say I missed not being with more family this year, since we moved away.  But thank the Lord for technology!  Don’t know what I would do without iPhones, cameras and group texts!
Hope y’all have a great start to your week!

  2. Enjoy your blog…been reading it for a while. I live in Mt.Pleasant with three kids by Boone Hall. My church puts that service on for the community; my husband played in the worship band on Easter there. Glad yall enjoyed the service! Have a great week!

    1. Thank you, Mandy! My husband and I were in awe at how smoothly everything went. Over 600 volunteers!? That says something about the church you go to! Since we just moved here, we're still visiting many churches but weren't sure where we'd attend an Easter service. Well, when we received a postcard in the mail from your church, we knew just where we'd go. Thanks again!
