Thirsty Thursday: Grand Champagne Cocktail

To ring in the New Year, try Bobby Flay’s Grand Champagne Cocktail.  It’s sounds divine, and I’m hoping to try it out this weekend!

Strawberry puree and honey give a fresh twist to the traditional champagne cocktail.

Ingredients:
4 shots orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
4 teaspoons honey
4 fresh strawberries, tops trimmed
1 bottle champagne, well chilled

Glass: Chilled champagne flute

Preparation:
Add the orange-flavored liqueur, honey and strawberries to a food processor and process until smooth.  Fill the chilled glasses halfway with the strawberry mixture and then fill the rest of the glass with champagne.

Yummy, right?

And if you’re looking to make it, sans alcohol, I’m sure you could substitute the liquor with orange juice, and the champagne with sparkling cider.  It’s worth a shot!

Alright, what are y’all planning to wear to celebrate, on the eve of 2012?

If I were attending a swanky soiree, I’d love to be wearing this…

LOVE the back!

Depending on if my friends decide to wear dresses, I’ll wear this…

Cocktail rings are in the print of the dress!

And if we end up going with jeans and a dressy top, I’ll wear this…

If you’re still shopping for that perfect NYE dress, stay tuned for tomorrow’s post.  Fashion Friday will feature some great NYE dresses, at all price points.

Cheers!
