Our Weekend Away + What I Wore

This past weekend, we had the best time visiting Kiawah River!  If you’re wondering where exactly it is, it’s a new development to your left, right before you get to the roundabout to Seabrook, Freshfields and Kiawah Island.  Look for this sign above!  Got to wear my new sweatshirt!

How beautiful is this villa we stayed in over the weekend?  And the decor was amazing!

After we went on an evening bike ride, the kids settled in for a movie while Lanier and I enjoyed a quiet dinner out on the porch.

Wore this top, these jeans and this necklace.  For sizing on this top, I went with my usual size, a small.

Morning Snuggles.

Love when we’re all snuggled on the couch like this.

This is how they always play chess.  There were tables abound, but they always insist on perching themselves like this.

During our stay, we went on numerous bike rides throughout the Kiawah River area.  They have the most beautiful bike trails!  We didn’t get a chance to visit The Goatery, but we hope to on our next visit.  Loving having this crossbody with me.

The most gorgeous moss-filled trees!

Love wearing these bracelets and always get compliments on them.  My kids clearly love when I wear them too.  Only $15!

Wore these $10 Carolina blue earrings (not heavy at all!) to cheer on my Tar Heels, paired with this dress.

The pink bird is a pink (roseate) spoonbill.  We saw lots of them while we were here!  Such a cool sight!

I made sure to get out for my early morning runs to witness the beautiful sunrises here.  We truly lucked out on the weather.  The forecast called for rain and we only got a little on Saturday night, but we were already home and snuggled in so it was perfect timing!

My lunch dates!

On our way home, we stopped by the 65′ Angel Oak Tree.  400+ years old and the most majestic sight!  This photo doesn’t begin to capture its beauty!

My heart was so full all weekend long!  We needed a trip away together, since we hadn’t traveled anywhere on a vacay in quite sometime.  Even if it was less than an hours drive to get here, it was still the best staycay!

Cannot wait to see what Kiawah River will look like next Fall.  That’s when The Spring House will be completed with a large pool, gym, etc.  Houses are continually popping up in the development for rent/purchase.  To rent the one we stayed in, head over here.  New Leaf Builders did a wonderful job building such a great villa!
