Life Lately + What I’ve Been Wearing

I’m back!  My sincerest apologies for the lack of blog posts these past few weeks.  We lived up the end of summer break as best we could and with the kids back in school, I’ve been working hard to get the house unpacked and organized.  The amount of boxes we started with was unreal!  Speaking of the move and transition, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your heartfelt messages of love, prayers and support.  You have no idea how much they continue to mean to me.

The girls in our blue hues at church this past weekend.  My dress is new and I just love it!  It runs big.  I’m wearing an XS.  This particular belt doesn’t come with this dress, but there is another one that comes with it.

BIG NEWS!  After twelve memorable years with our suburban, we got a new car!

The kids love it, especially the sunroof.  My suburban had finally seen it’s last day.  When it wouldn’t start yet again on  the third day of school, I was finally over it.  We did put lots of good miles (230,000) and special memories in that car, but we all knew it was time.  I needed a safer, more reliable car and so happy to have one now.

How beautiful are these guinea fowl feather earrings?  Such a fun, unique statement!

These are the softest jeans with the most comfortable stretch and they’re high rise too.  Paired here with this top and these sandals.

I keep forgetting to take a full-length photo of this dress, but I have been living in it this summer.  It feels like I’m wearing pajamas whenever I toss it on, but it’s the softest, silkiest fabric and it’s lined too.  Runs big.  Go down a size.  Wearing an XS. // Sunnies

So thankful that someone came and picked these boxes up the other day!  I still have accrued even more.  But the more that are here means the more I’ve unpacked.  So that’s winning in my book.  I absolutely adore this dress and the fit.  I will say it does run pretty big.  I usually wear a 4 in Lilly and had to size down to a 2 in this one.

Celebrated this beautiful mama-to-be the other week.  Can’t wait to meet her son soon!!

Speaking of jeans, these are another great pair.  Love the high waist, the color and the slits for boots and heels.  Head to this reel for more deets.

Such a pretty Carolina blue eyelet dress.  Even better in person.  Runs a tad big.  Wearing an XS.

Effie’s performance as Nala in Lion King Jr. was incredible!  So proud of her!  Check out this clip and this clip to watch her solos.  She performed five shows at Queen Street Players and the entire cast was just amazing.  This was her summer theater camp.  It’s hard to believe they put it all together in just two weeks!

School started back earlier than usual this year, but we’re so glad because that means they’ll get out in May!  Only two schools this year.  Sad that elementary school is over.  Wheeler and Effie will be together again (9th and 10th).  And Logan and Vaughn will be together again (6th and 7th).

I swear they both grew a foot this summer!

Can’t believe my baby is starting middle school!

Since they’ll both be starting new schools this year, Effie and Vaughn both had their orientation days the day before the official first day of school.  I was so glad they came home and said they loved it!

If I’ve never shared my love of the Chappy Wrap blanket with you before, it must be that you’re new around here.  It is seriously my favorite blanket ever!  It’s not fleece although it feels as soft as fleece.  It’s a premium cotton blend that can be tossed in the wash and never pills.  Just got this one in the larger Family Size and my kids love it just as much, if not more, than the others…and of course Smoke does too.

Effie got her braces off this summer!  Two years in the making.  Dr. Katie at Vincent & Bullwinkel Orthodontics is amazing!  She gave Wheeler her beautiful, straight smile too!  P. S. Look how much Effie grew!  Here’s a fun reel with more details on her transformation.

This hot pink dress is such a great style and color.  The fabric is more structured so it doesn’t wrinkle very easily which I love.  Runs big.  Go down a size.  Paired it here with these flats.  These also run big.  I’d suggest going down definitely a half-size or even a whole size.

I’ve tossed this dress on more times than I can count.  It’ll be great with the weather starts cooling down here too.

My girls and I had a fun staycation downtown about a month ago.  I’ll share details in another post soon.  As far as sizing, my girls and I are pretty much the same size.  So luckily for them, they get to borrow all of my clothes.  And Wheeler loves this comfy jumpsuit just as much as I do.  It’s so cute on her!

Okay this top is so good!  Such a cute babydoll shape and the embroidery on the front is so pretty.  Wearing an XS.  And these jeans have the coolest buttons down the front.  I wore this look when I was in Charlotte a few weeks ago and my mom and sisters all said how much they loved it.

I hope y’all are having a great week!  For a laugh and a fun flashback, check out this reel.
