Life Lately + What I Wore

I can always tell when the summer break is almost upon us when friends start coming from Charlotte to visit.  The weather is FINALLY starting to stay warm!  I feel like this is the first year since we moved here four years ago that we actually had a complete spring season.  I know that’s a wonderful thing, but I live for summer and have been dying for the weather to finally get HOT!

Enjoyed a delicious arugula salad at Coastal Crust!

Such cuties!

And how precious is she??

More good friends were in town for Easter.  We took them to one of the newer spots in town called Malagon.  Talk about an overwhelming menu full of tasty tapas options!  We ended up letting the waitress choose most of our dishes and loved every single one!

I’ve really been into Tempranillos lately and this one certainly didn’t disappoint!

With how quickly we ate everything, this was one of the only food pics I got that night.  But the dates…oh my yum!

Boys’ Swim Sets

We were thankful for a heated pool when we visited with friends out at Wild Dunes over Easter weekend!

Having fun celebrating the birthday girl!

Always a fun time with this crew!

Happy Birthday, sweet Vivi!

A fun-filled weekend wouldn’t be complete without a trip to one of their faves – Waffle House!

At the last minute we decided to see Dumbo instead of The Missing Link.  I was a little skeptical as I’d heard it was pretty sad.  But it wasn’t too bad and the kids really enjoyed it.  So glad I took them!  Let’s put it this way, in my opinion Charlotte’s Web was sadder.

The Easter Bunny’s visit!

You know you’re in love with a restaurant when you go at night and then again at lunch the next day.  I always say I need to venture out, but I can’t quit my love for this spot.

My mother-in-law came in town yesterday to take the kids to see Beauty and the Beast with me.

The Ember Cobb Salad was calling my name.

I’m giving a pair of these earrings away over on IG!  Head here to enter!

The kids have been loving RuRu’s downtown lately.  Since it was so close to Dock Street Theater, we had dinner there first.

Can’t get enough of these cobblestone streets!  And the jasmine is in full bloom too!

So happy the kids all obliged!

When we were walking to the theater from dinner, we spotted some leftover hidden Easter eggs!

Vaughn wanted to know what was inside them.  No money or candy in there, sorry buddy!

One we found, Effie accidentally dropped!  Thankful it didn’t get on their outfits!  Not so hard-boiled after all!

I’m always in awe of the window boxes downtown.  Seriously, look at this arrangement!

And I LOVE the colors in this one.

They were just a little excited!  😉

We usually don’t take the boys with us, but we did for this one and they loved it!  I was worried it was going to be too long for them, but they stayed awake the entire time and really enjoyed it!

Finally, I’ll leave you with this pajama set!  Because who doesn’t love a pair of cozy, soft pajamas?  I own a few sets of this ‘dreamy’ style, as they call them, so I was so excited when I saw that they came out with this cute polka dot print.  And if you’re wondering, yes, the fabric is the exact same as the other ‘Dreamy’ sets.

I hope y’all have a great weekend!  In case you missed it, I answered a lot of your questions about exercise on yesterday’s post here.  Earlier in the week, I shared two cute spring looks and both maxi dresses are under $20 here.  And I also shared our Easter with you too, here.

TGIF, Y’all!
