First off, last week the boys got long overdue haircuts and I’m so happy. They’ve never cared about their cuts at all so I’ve always gone as short as possible to minimize our visits to the barber. Lately, they’ve been wanting their hair not to be as short, so there’s a fine line between too long and too short. But thankfully they loved these cuts and they’re not too short in their opinion. I think they look great!

This was clearly before his cut. Haha. Logan competed in his first chess tournament and he did so well. It was definitely a new experience for the both of us.

I didn’t realize you weren’t allowed to be in the room when they competed which I totally understand. So they can have full concentration. But thankfully they let parents come in before each round and take pics and check out the scene. There were five rounds and two of Logan’s rounds lasted almost an hour. They had a lobby and a beautiful courtyard with concessions. I’d brought my computer but the Wifi was terrible. Next time, I’ll plan to bring a book while Logan competed in his rounds.

For not having competed before, he did amazing! Out of the five rounds, he won two and lost two and had a draw in another. I didn’t realize you could have a draw in chess. Logan had a great time, but he decided that if he competes again, he’ll only do it if it’s closer to home. We had to wake up early that morning to drive two hours to Columbia to get there by 10 and I know by the end around 4:30, he was wiped and then we had to drive two hours back home. Needless to say, it was a long day.

Albeit being tired, he still asked to get his fave street tacos at Taco Boy on the way home. Of course!

Wheeler continues to write her own music and perform! Makes me tear up every time she sings.

Wheeler hit a 1000-day streak a few months ago on Duolingo for Spanish, so we surprised her with a little celebration. Some of y’all asked if she was still going strong. Nope. She deleted the app when she hit 1000. Haha.

Logan isn’t in band, chorus or orchestra so when they went on their Disney trip a few weeks ago, he asked if he could miss school since they weren’t doing much in their classes. He rarely likes to miss school for fear of all of the make-up work, but this time he asked and of course I said yes!

It was a gorgeous day downtown. We went back to Taco Boy and had his fave street corn.

And then hit up Carmella’s for this delicious cake. Y’all have to try one of their cakes. There was a pistachio cheesecake there that day and it looked divine!

Enjoyed some rollerblading time too.

My boys taking care of me.

Wheeler and her calculus team went to Clemson to compete in the Calculus Challenge. Wheeler said it was a fun day and also very humbling. I mean good for her and I’m so proud. You couldn’t pay me! Haha.

Effie ran the Bridge Run for the first time this year. I didn’t, but y’all know I’ve run it many times in the past. Next time I’m definitely doing it again and recruiting the kids to join me. I think they’d really enjoy it.

They had the best time! Dressed as Aurora and Jasmine.

She had to get a pic with a Tarheels bus she saw there.

As always, we had a blast at Monster Jam. But I found out it’s always the same weekend as the rodeo and I think next year we’re going to the rodeo instead it’s at Bull’s Bay. I LOVE a good rodeo!
Lots more fun to come, as we’re headed to Universal next week for Spring Break!
