Thirsty Thursday: Patriotic Margarita and Ombre!

If you want to attempt a fun independence day cocktail this holiday, try this one from Coastal Living.  I guarantee you that your friends won’t just be oohing and ahhing at the fireworks this year!

Patriotic Margarita

Toast your country all year long with this red-and-blue beverage, one of many signature drinks featuring the vodka-based liquor HPNOTIQ.

To make this festive cocktail, follow these simple steps.

1. Puree thawed frozen strawberries.

2. Blend 2 tablespoons each of the strawberry puree, dark rum, coconut milk, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, and ½ cup crushed ice in a blender until smooth.

3. Pour 2 to 4 tablespoons HPNOTIQ into a glass, and top with 2 to 4 tablespoons of the strawberry mixture.

A similar cocktail, that looks more like the cocktail pictured above, can be found HERE.

Happy Early 4th!
Cheers!

So yesterday, I decided to go ombre!  What do you think???
I wore it in a braid yesterday, and loved the mixed colors in it!
Picked up the kids from my in-laws’, and found them on a walk with their Poppy.  Such a happy bunch!  Even with Logan on top of W’s lap.  Hey, whatever works, right?
We passed down our in-line stroller to them about a year ago, since a double BOB worked better.
One of the reasons…look at E’s legs – they could practically touch the ground!

Couldn’t help myself.  Just a few more pics of the kiddos…
Love this one, of E’s little eyes!

  1. Your kids are just too cute! I love the pic of all of them in the stroller! And I love your hair–it looks so good!

P.S. Thanks for your phone advice! Have a wonderful afternoon!

  2. love the hair!!! i was so just talking about going ombre on twitter a few days ago. my only drawback is my gray when it starts growing out if go back brown. ha!

    1. Girl, I have tons of gray! So much that I have to get it done every five weeks to touch it up. That's why I went ombré instead of highlights, so when I go in to get my roots touched up, I don't have to get the highlights touched up too. Super easy maintenance.
