I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas! I actually had a bad migraine for most of Christmas day. Thankfully, we’d planned on heading to my parents for a big Christmas lunch, so the kids were lucky to have all their cousins to play with. Plus, the weather here was beautiful and sunny, so they were able to spend a good amount of time outside. I spent it laying in my parents’ bed, in the dark, with a huge pillow over my head. I’m still grateful it was me that was sick and not the children. Last year, Wheeler and Vaughn both got the stomach bug in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, and didn’t even feel up to opening presents on Christmas day. It was pitiful. This year, they had the best time opening gifts!
At our house, Santa only brings one gift to each of us. They know that Lanier and I bring them a few other gifts, but the elves in Santa’s workshop work hard to make that one special gift. So when they tell Santa what they want, he better deliver. Ha. This year it was easy, the girls each asked for Frozen dresses. Effie got Anna and Wheeler got Elsa. The ones I purchased were from Nordstrom. You may remember them from this gift guide post. So much better than other scratchy ones I’d seen. Plus, you can wash these. The 7-9 years size Elsa has sold out at Nordstrom, but available here. The kids all decided that Vaughn wanted a plane that talks, so Santa brought him Dusty the Plane. And Logan’s was a little more challenging, as he asked for a brontosaurus that stomps and talks. But we found it! Santa brought me a Skip-It (this one is more intense than the one I used to play with when I was little), Boozer got a stuffed replica of himself and Lanier got a Handy Dad book.
As you know, with the day after Christmas, comes After-Christmas Sales. Anyone need to use a gift card? Maybe you were waiting for your favorite something to go on sale. Now’s the time to take advantage!
