Fashion Friday: Fall’s Newest Arrivals from Lilly Pulitzer and J.Crew + Final Top Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Last night after a day at the lake, Lanier and I headed to dinner in the downpour.  The humidity caused my hair to expand five inches!  Wearing this top (now on sale).
It’s Friday!  Cannot believe it’s already August!  Super rainy here.  While we didn’t have the best conditions yesterday at the lake, cloudy with a few light drops of rain, we still managed to have a great time and still swam a lot.  I’m just so thankful we didn’t wake up to the weather we’re having this morning.  This rain wouldn’t have cut it.
Today we’re off to visit my grandfather Ray-Ray to celebrate his birthday.  He lives about an hour and a half away from here.  We even drive by the Gaffney Outlets on the way there, but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be stopping.  It’s not so easy to shop with little ones, especially when it’s not all enclosed like the mall.  Walking outside of each store to go to the next one freaks me out.  If the store door opens, any one of them could squeeze right out and the parking lot is right there.  Needless to say, while I love that outlet, I only get to visit it maybe once a year.  And let’s not forget to mention, just trying to shop with little ones in general is usually chaos!  Especially with four of them!
I feel like this past month there have been some pretty stellar sales I’ve told you about…most recently the Anniversary Sale.  While it’s still warm here, Fall in fashion is already out and in stores.  Sales are happening now to get rid of the summer inventory and make room for Fall.  It’s hard to think about cooler weather right now, but some of these newer pieces meant for Fall/Winter can be incorporated into the late Summer/early Fall months, and even year-round.  For instance, Lilly Pulitzer just released their Fall Collection, and I am in love!  I was so thrilled to see the Deanna Romper back and in a fabulous new print!  You know I’ll be adding it to my closet.  I’ve included all of my favorites below…

J.Crew’s newest arrivals are perfect for Fall!  Last year, I went a little crazy with sweatshirts from J.Crew.  I think I ended up with maybe four of them?  You’ll probably remember them when I say which ones they were, the horses one, the CHEERS one, and both camo ones.  I still wear them now, even in summer.  Such a cozy top, even just hanging out around the house.  This year, J.Crew has the ‘SAY YES’ Sweatshirt which I really like, so I’m glad they’re sticking with the comfy sweatshirts theme.  I also think this dress and these shorts are really cute too.  Here are some other pieces I love from the latest collection…

Star Cluster Necklace // Silk Cascade Blouse // Gingham Utility Shirt // Ivory Petal Tank // Mixed Media Sweater // Merino Swing Sweater (You know my love for these sweaters! Definitely adding at least one more to my collection this Fall.) // Calf Hair Wedges // Star Cluster Bangle // Patchwork Stripe Scarf // Mini Camera // Instax Film
Alright y’all, Sunday is the last day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  Get what you’ve had your eye on before prices go back up.  Many pieces are no longer available, like the Voluspa candles, the Jo Malone fragrance set, the Diptique candle set, the Tory Burch Revas, and the Kate Spade Pink Lottie Pumps, but there are still some really great deals to take advantage of.  One thing’s for sure, I’m getting everything now because the last thing I want to do is think about how I turned down a pair of these shoes or this top and then after I finally decided to snag one, the price is back up.  I’ll seriously be kicking myself that I didn’t get some pieces while they were on sale.  This one is still on my list.
I know I went a little crazy with what I purchased during the Nordstrom Sale this year, but I’ve always taken advantage of the great prices.  And every year, I’m always so pleased that I saved so much, rather than paying full price on some of my ‘still-in-rotation’ pieces.  Here’s an example:  I purchased the gold Michael Kors Layton Watch that I wear almost everyday during the Anniversary Sale over two years ago and probably saved over $100 on it.  And with my latest loot from this year’s Anniversary Sale, I feel like my closet has some fun new pieces and new classic pieces, and the children have some Fall/Winter-ready clothes and clothes for back-to-school.  I even have some great hostess gifts for the holidays, with these little sets.
I’ve included a little recap for you, of some of my favorite pieces that I picked up during this year’s sale.  That’s not to say that I may place one more order over the weekend before it’s over…

And I couldn’t forget to include my favorite Anniversary Sale item, my new Michael Kors Bradshaw Watch.

And these Monogram Bangles ($44.90) and Necklace ($57.90).
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!  My fingers are crossed that this weather moves on out of here.  We’ve got plans to swim all weekend, and I’d hate to think we’d have to miss it because of the dreary weather.
TGIF, Y’all!

  1. I hit up the Kate Spade Outlet at the Gaffney mall this morning. Lots of great deals- I might have left with a new handbag and 2 wallets.
