Wednesday Whereabouts: TV Update

 Little V with his Poppy
The girls after E’s soccer game this past Saturday.
The girls torturing loving their brother.
Snuggling in bed this cold morning.
An update to Monday’s post, we’re on Day #3 of no TV and actually surviving!  Thank you so much for all of your comments and input.  The children have only asked once or twice to watch a show, but I’ve simply said no and there hasn’t been a single tantrum about it…so far.  I swear the quiet of just the children’s voices has been so nice without the chaos of the television playing in the background.  Like many mothers, I use television as a distraction when I’m trying to get things accomplished (making dinner, laundry, cleaning up toys, etc.) but honestly, I’m still getting it done even without the TV.  The children have been really good about finding other things to do, while I’m folding laundry, hanging clothes, changing sheets, etc.  I think they just “get it”.  For now they know to go read books, play with their toys, or even actually help me.  No, seriously.  The girls actually have offered.  Now I’m not going on record saying that the TV will be off for good, but it’s been so nice these last two (almost three) days without it.  The iPad has been banned too, with the exception of E using it when she wakes up earlier than anyone else and plays on it in our bed, until I get home from working out.  I’ll let you know how it goes over the weekend.  That may be more of a challenge.
My J.Crew Fit Guide on
Three Spring Favorites
I’m a 4/6 and the XS fit me perfectly, and still had some extra flowy room.
Perfect for the beach/pool this summer!
Very thin but super soft, just the way I like them.  The size small worked for me.
Love how silky soft this top is.  It is a bit see-through but wears well with a nude bra.  A simple pair of jeans or jean shorts, or even colored chinos will go nicely with this top.  I’m a 4/6 and the 4 worked with a little extra room.  Perfect for how to wear this “blousy” top.
Happy Wednesday!

  1. I meant to comment on your less tv post! You're my hero. Seriously. I think it's awesome you are making the effort. Another example of what an awesome mom you are. The TV is on way too much in our house and half the time no one is watching it. This winter has been brutal and I've relied on TV to get through. I'm going to make some changes. Thanks for being so inspiring!

    1. Thanks Jen! I've been the same this winter too and totally agree with you. Even when they're not even watching it the tv is on. Randomly decided to try it this week so we'll see if I can keep it up!
