Wednesday Whereabouts

So after all of that talk on Monday about the kids going back to school on Tuesday, the school system called on Monday evening and canceled school yet again on Tuesday.  Most of the snow had melted, but they feared that the school buses would have trouble with the remaining ice.  More wine and champagne, please.  Haha. // Wearing this top, these pants and these cozy boots.

The kids of course enjoyed the day, making the last of the snowballs they could find, as the 60-degree weather was melting the snow away pretty quickly.

One thing’s for sure, I don’t think the kids minded the extra long break.  More playdates!  This particular evening they put on a performance for all of the adults.

On Saturday, I snuck away for a few hours with friends for lunch at yummy Five Loaves and a massage as a belated birthday treat.  It was amazing!  I only get a massage maybe once a year.  I think I need to change that.  It was pure heaven.

Although they didn’t have school on Monday, I still took them to their usual Monday activities.  They all had dentist appointments scheduled that morning too.  Yay for no cavities!

That afternoon, the girls insisted on going to see The Greatest Showman again.  Couldn’t resist!  Y’all, it’s that good!  We’ve been listening to the soundtrack all winter break.

I still can’t believe how quickly my first Lilly Sale order arrived.  The girls love their new leggings!  This is the first time in awhile that I feel like I ordered a lot of stuff.  I blame school being out and the snowstorm.  But I can’t wait for it all to start arriving!  I know many of you have been asking about the giveaway winner.

The Lilly Pulitzer $250 Gift Card Winner is…

Jennifer Shelton (jennyleonard210@aol.com)

Congratulations!  Email me at sweetsouthernprep at gmail within 24 hours and I’ll get your gift card to you soon!

How pretty are these pieces of art?  Meredith Covington and Nan Jones created a unique, custom-designed process developed for original art to withstand the outdoor elements.  Not  only is their exposed art beautiful, but I think it’s a genius idea!  Who wouldn’t want to share their favorite art in an outdoor space too!

“Each piece of art is painted on weather and break-resistant acrylic “canvases”, using a weatherproof paint medium. These canvases are virtually unaffected by sun, extreme cold, salt water spray, and are heat resistant (-30degrees to 200 degrees F). The weatherproof, aluminum standoff bolts are included with the purchase of each piece.”  It’s hard to see here, but the paintings are not set inside the acrylic frame, like you’d assume.  But you can in fact touch the canvas as it sits on top of the acrylic, exposed.  To check out more of their beautiful art pieces, head over here.

With the snow melting also means that the package trucks are running again.  These beauties in navy, rose gold and light green arrived yesterday.  I already have them in pink and can’t wait to style these colors too!  I receive compliments whenever I wear them.  Just such fun, original statement earrings.

FYI, my tie sleeve sweater that I included in this post is now on sale for only $35 and ships for free!  You can shop any of these picks above by clicking on the item in the collage.

I usually get a new pair of running shoes each year.  I just ordered these.  I’ll report back on how they hold up on my runs.  The light grey and rose gold is such a pretty combo.  And they’ve received rave reviews.

The kiddos are finally back to school today!  We don’t have much planned for after school, as I know they’re going to be wiped out after their first day back in a long time!

Hope y’all are having a great week so far!

Happy Wednesday!
