Wednesday Whereabouts

Top (already sold out at Anthropologie, but I love this similar version with the same style and fit) // Shorts (currently being price matched at 30% off!) // Boots // Necklace // Sunglasses (Gold/Blue Gradient)
This past weekend, the Strawberry Festival was here, so we waited until the rain finally let up on Saturday to go.  We had pumped it up all week, so there was no way we were going to miss it.  And let me tell you, going to a carnival right after it rains is the best idea ever.  There were absolutely no lines and the weather had cooled off.  I will say we were smart to come prepared in our rain boots (aside from Effie in her crocs) because it was muddy.  But the kiddos didn’t seem to mind it!
And when I say muddy, I mean THIS muddy!
How sweet is little Vaughn at the petting zoo, hugging all of the animals?  I think he would’ve let me take them all home with him.
And the rides.  This was a complete shocker to us.  We’d figured that the girls and I would go ride the rides while the boys went and watched the dog show, pig races, etc.  This was not the case at all.  While Logan loves his trains, trucks, etc., he’s still afraid of loud noises.  I thought he’d take one look at a ride and run the other way.  In fact, it was the opposite.  He wanted to ride on every.single.ride.  And of course, Vaughn wanted to do what everyone else was doing.
See?  No lines.  I don’t think we’ll ever get this lucky again.
Needless to say, we had a blast!
And you know we couldn’t leave without some amazing funnel cake!
Top (on sale, runs true to size; only a few sizes left)
Since I don’t take the kids shopping with me that often, this was a treat.  And I’m starting to realize that the older they get, the better behaved they are in the actual stores.  Like when I tell them not to touch anything, they actually listen.  Probably just jinxed myself.  On Monday, we headed to the outlets so I could return a top.  Whenever we see these rides in most places I usually just hurry past them.  Since we were in no hurry, I caved and let them ride on them.  They were so excited!  The sheer happiness on Logan’s face says it all.  He got to ride on Thomas!  I just hope that from now on they’re not begging to ride them whenever they’re in sight.  Effie snagged this Fedora from J.Crew Factory while we were there.  She didn’t take it off for the remainder of the day.  Love how cute it looks with her green Lilly dress.
After I picked up Wheeler from school, I treated them to some fun desserts.  Effie ate hers pretty quickly, so naturally she wanted to steal bites of Wheeler’s too.  Wheeler’s treat was chocolate covered marshmallows, topped with sprinkles.  So good.
Still styling herself, as usual.  I had to share Effie’s outfit yesterday.  I can’t even remember where we got the orange tutu we’ve had it so long, but the dress and headband (both picked out by herself) are from J.Crew Factory and currently on sale.
I’m heading out of town tomorrow, and finally had some time to try on clothes yesterday.  This is how this usually goes.  Lots of kids to keep me company, offering sweet opinions.  But I love it!  If Effie were to help me pack, everything in my suitcase would be PINK!  The blue one I’m wearing here is Tory Burch.  I had a few of you email about my floor-length mirror.  It’s from West Elm.  Was one of my first pieces I ordered after we moved in.  Finally getting to use it!
So most kids Wheeler’s age come home from school and rest, have a snack, maybe catch a show.  Wheeler always does art.  Yesterday, she lined up her Barbies and taught them an art lesson, even drawing pictures and names for each student.  Seriously the sweetest.

Pops of Pink // My Kate Spade Watch is currently being price matched at 25% off.  It’s the cutest!  The white is the only color available right now.  The pink color has sold out on sale, but also available not on sale here. // Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace // K Jacques Sandals
Went and got my hair colored yesterday evening.  While the kids are the best thing to hang out with all the time, sometimes it’s nice to have some quiet…and good wine to go with it.
Saks still has their Friends & Family 30% Off Sale going on.
Enter code: FRNFAM at check-out.
Remember that Lilly is included.  I have a few Iona Tops and think this one is really cute.
And this Mara Hoffman Top would be so cute as a cover-up at the pool.
If you’ve been wanting a pair of Millers for Spring/Summer, now’s your chance!  These two above are on sale!  For fit, I’m an 8.5 and wear a 9 in them.
Happy Wednesday, Y’all!

  1. You've got the sweetest family. Wheeler is such a neat kid- as a former Kindergarten teacher, I can tell she'd be one I'd love to have in my class. As we teachers know, most of what makes a 'good kid' comes from the home– so good job, mama!
