Thirsty Thursday: Green Apple Martini

With many schools starting back soon, I thought all the parents out there could raise a glass, to toast this past summer, and surviving daily “what to do’s” and “I’m bored days” with your kiddos!  Now, they’ll be back to school, back to a routine, and back to “lots to do”.  Good luck to all the parents with children starting kindergarten and college…as I think these two years will be the toughest!!  Cheers, Y’all!

Green Apple Martini
Ingredients
  • Cinnamon and sugar for rimming glass
  • 5 tablespoons vodka
  • 5 tablespoons sour-apple schnapps
  • 5 tablespoons lemonade
  • 5 tablespoons lemon-lime soda (such as 7-Up or Sprite)
Directions
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, schnapps, lemonade and lemon-lime soda. Cover and shake vigorously. Dip rim edge of martini glasses in a shallow dish with 1/4-inch water, then in a shallow dish with 1/4-inch of equal parts sugar and cinnamon mixture. Strain shaken mixture into prepared glasses and serve.

  1. Thank you for thinking of us college parents, it is tough! We just took our two sons to college yesterday, a freshman and a sophomore. The freshman is our youngest child, so that means "empty nest." At least our daughter is home until she gets married in February and I am SO thankful! She will help me ease into that empty nest!
