The Grasshopper Cocktail + More Spring Break Faves + Tory Burch Private Sale Starts Now!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  I hope you’ve got some green on today!  I’m Scotch Irish, so we especially love to celebrate this holiday!  Wheeler’s been learning about Ireland in school and has recently requested to visit Ireland and kiss the Blarney Stone.  I’ve been to Scotland and England, but hope to one day visit Ireland too.  My relatives visited last summer, and said it was such an amazing trip!  We may just have to make that dream a reality for Wheeler one day.  Would be so much fun!
I actually had a different cocktail in mind, to share with you today, but instead wanted to postpone that one until next week.  Today, it’s all about a fun green concoction!  If you love chocolate mints or mint chocolate chip ice cream, you will absolutely LOVE this cocktail!  Plus, it’s super simple to concoct and absolutely delicious!
The Grasshopper
(found the recipe here)
1 1/2oz cognac**
1oz green creme de menthe
1oz white creme de cacao
1/2oz heavy cream
Chocolate shavings
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in all ingredients. Shake until chilled, and strain the mixture into a cocktail glass. Garnish with shaved chocolate.
Cheers!
**You don’t necessarily have to include the cognac, but if you’re not into sweet drinks, this dulls the sweetness a little.
So I got this Old Navy Dress in yesterday, and it’s everything I thought it would be.  I’m already thinking of all the different ways I can style it.  It’s got the perfect amount of swing and a great length too.  For fit, it’s true to size.
LOVE this Gingham Top that arrived with it.  I’m a big fan of bright colored chino shorts (the J.Crew ones are my absolute faves), and thinking this top will go with every single color.  Can’t wait to wear it soon!  Again, true to size.  I’m wearing a small.

Two more favorites I shared on Instagram last night, these shorts (on sale for only $29.50!) and these fun fringed sandals.  In addition to wearing bright-colored shorts in the summer, I also love finding new, printed shorts and pairing them with simple grey, black, or navy tees.  The fit on these is awesome, and true to size.  I was hesitant to order the sandals, for fear that the fringe part would be too stiff, but they’re actually really fun and the fringe is swishy, so I loved that.  They’re made really well and will hopefully last a long time.  I went with my regular size 8.5 on these and they fit perfectly.
Honestly, most recently I haven’t ordered J.Crew Factory shorts because the quality just wasn’t hitting the mark, but they are an exception.  They’re made so well, and I love the fit and prints so much, I went back and ordered this lavender gingham pair and pink flora pair.  Both on sale!
Sharing more Spring Break Faves with you today!  Enjoy!

As far as what I’ll be wearing today, for St. Patrick’s Day, I’ll be wearing this green dress!  It comes in a few other colors, is super comfy and has a little swing to it.  Another 80 degree day here, so the less clothes, the better!

  1. I agree about jcrew factory's shorts in the past. I found that the sizing was smaller and chino was thinner. Do you find these to be similar in quality to the regular jcrew chino shorts?

  2. Hi Ashley! I love that Old Navy dress, may order yellow and red. I was wondering what size you ordered? I am about to place the order but I am unsure of whether I should go with S or M, and I usually can order the same size dresses as you. Thanks!
