Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites: Size & Fit Guide + Running Stats

Over the weekend, we headed up to the mountains with a group of friends and stayed at my friend’s cabin.  We’ve been making this trip for the past fifteen years, and it never gets old.  It’s still one of my favorite weekends of the year.  Sometimes we try to go twice a year, once in the summer and once in the fall, but now that we’re all getting older and have families it’s harder to make two trips happen.  We’ve actually talked about everyone bringing their children up too, but it’s still the best time catching up with just us. // Striped Tank (only $20) // Sunnies // Flip Flops // Bikini below is by Marysia (wearing a medium)
Our awesome host!  We’re sitting on rocks at the creek below the cabin.
The best rustic cabin ever.  No internet, no tv, no a/c or heat.  Just cards, conversation, games, guitars, and a good time.  And we wouldn’t want it any other way.

I’m already missing my four like crazy.  They’re visiting both grandparents this week and I won’t see them until Friday.  They’re so excited and I’m excited for them.  But I’m also sad too.  The house is already way too quiet.  Lanier and I have fun things planned this week, but it’s still hard.  You better believe I’m leaving early Friday morning to hurry up and see them!
As promised, as the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale continues, I’ll be sharing more of my favorites and sizing and fit on items I’ve tried on.  Unfortunately, I won’t be featuring many of my favorites because they’ve already sold out.  But if they come back in stock, I’ll be sure and let you know!
First off, my Dash & Albert rug came in for our sun room and I love it!  I’ve always been a fan of Dash & Albert, so I especially love that Nordstrom carries them now and that they’re currently on sale.  Check out more Dash & Albert rugs here.
I’m loving the fit on these Rag & Bone Skinny Jeans.  I’m planning on wearing mine often this fall/winter.  The rise is great and there’s a little stretch to them, as well.  Go with your regular size on these.
The pic online of this Joie Top does not do it justice.  It’s gorgeous in person!  Pair it with dark jeans and some booties, wedges or heels and you’re all set for a fun night out.  I love the lace cut-outs on it so much.  For fit, I went up to a medium on this one.  The sleeves were too tight when I tried on my usual small in Joie tops.
I was super excited that NARS came out with this blush set.  It’s basically all of my favorite blushes I already use, plus a few more that I can’t wait to try.  For all of my favorite make-up and my make-up routine, head back to this post.
While I absolutely love all of these Bobbi Brown eye colors, the best part about this kit is that the compact comes with a brush for eyeshadow and eyeliner inside of it.  Also, if you spend $100+ at Bobbi Brown, you’ll receive samples of Radiance Boost Mask (0.23 oz.) Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover (1 oz.), Vitamin Enriched Face Base (0.35 oz.) and a cosmetics bag, while supplies last.
There’s only one color left in the Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket, but it’s currently available in all sizes.  I get many questions on what size I wear in these jackets.  I actually have two of them.  If I’m planning on wearing just a t-shirt or thin layer under it, then I wear my small.  If I’m planning on wearing something a little thicker under it, I go with my medium.
This UGG Cape is the most comfortable piece.  Toss it on for carpool or a cool evening out, and you’re all set.  For sizing, I liked the fit of the M/L, but I generally like my cardigans to be on the bigger size, rather than too small or fitted.
I’m not usually a sweater fan.  They’re usually too hot for my taste, sometimes itchy and I’m always afraid it’s going to get snagged on something.  Well, not so on this Rebecca Taylor sweater.  It is extremely soft!  For fit, I felt it ran a little small, and went with a medium on this one.
I decided to return these Rag & Bone Booties, even though I absolutely loved them!  I have a very similar pair in color and style and decided I didn’t need both.  For fit, they do run small so be sure and order the next size up.  There aren’t many sizes left in these!
There are a lot more sizes left in these Margot booties.  Same as the other pair above, these run small so make sure and order the next size up.
These Ugg slippers are a little different than the Scuffette style I’m used to.  The footbed is a little higher and more cushioned than the Scuffette style.  If you’re between sizes, go up a half-size.  I’m an 8.5 and wear a 9 in these.
I can’t say enough about these mini glitter Kate Spade studs.  I’ve only had mine for about a week and still love wearing them all the time.  Only $20.90 per pair!
I cannot wait to wear this top soon!  It’s super soft and such an easy piece to toss on.  It comes in so many colors that I’m already considering a few other colors to order too.  I sized up on this one, and went with a medium.
I’ve already raved enough about this dress as I’ve already worn it this past week, but had to include it on today’s post as one of my favorites from the sale.  For fit, it runs true to size.  It’s not as short as it looks here.  I’m 5’6″ and it hits right above my knees.
I tried a sample of these sea salt chocolate caramels and they’re amazing!  Definitely ordering more!
I know this is super random, but I always get one of these foot files during the sale each year.  They’re the best!
These candles smell amazing!  My favorite is the gardenia scent, but honestly I could own them all and put them in every room of my house.
I love the shape, color and size of this Kate Spade Crossbody.  The color is a perfect neutral that would go with almost anything in your closet.
I had a request for favorite sunglasses in the sale.  I’ll include those on tomorrow’s post, along with some items I picked up for the kids from the sale.
Running Stats

As I mentioned last week, I’m going to share my latest running stats with you each week.  This past weekend I didn’t run on Saturday and Sunday since we were gone, so this is from Monday to Friday.  Friday’s run was a little off, as I ran the first mile pushing Vaughn in the stroller, while the other three insisted on riding their scooters.  They were wiped out after that, so I dropped them back off at the house with Lanier and I ran two more miles by myself.
I also worked on running my first mile faster and my time was a little better.  I’m hoping to keep seeing my three-mile run time get faster and faster as I get more consistent.
Weekly Post Round-Up
I hope y’all have a great start to your week!

  1. That rustic cabin looks dreamy! So much fun to get away from everything technology related, especially as a blogger. Ps. Would love to see how you style the new rug and a home tour one day! 🙂 – McKenzie @ Somethin' Southern Blog
