Having a Blue Christmas: A Navy Holiday Dress Edition

It’s Friday!  I’m sure as it gets closer to Christmas, y’all probably have holiday parties to attend and need some ideas for holiday dresses.  I’ve posted a few so far, but wanted to share another one in navy.  I just love navy, paired with red and gold.  It alludes to a more subtle festive look, rather than a bright red bold “it’s the holidays!” color.  You know I’m all about either one, but it honestly depends on my mood the day of a party, before I decide what I want to wear.  I have friends that buy a dress for a certain occasion and count down the days until they get to wear it.  I love doing that too, except sometimes when the day comes to wear it, I look at it and decide to wear something else.  That’s why I generally have at least two looks ready, so at least I have options.  Do y’all do that?
Alright, now on to my fun, holiday look…

Cece by Cynthia Steffe // Kate Spade Sparkly Layla Heels // Essie Lollipop (a cheery bright red) // Kate Spade Crossbody (a slightly different style than the one I’m wearing in today’s post, but just as cute) // Gorjana Ring // Kate Spade Studs // Bobbi Brown Calypso // Tory Burch Sunglasses
This ensemble was super easy to put together.  Mostly because like I said, pairing navy with gold and red is beautiful however you style it.
When I started looking for navy dresses, I remembered how much I loved that white dress I wore a few months ago to the white party.  It was by Cece by Cynthia Steffe and I loved the fit of it.  So I searched for Cece at Nordstrom and a slew of gorgeous holiday dresses popped up.  Loving all of these…

I especially loved this pink one, but navy was what I wanted.

Since I’ve shown you red and black solid dresses, I wanted to find something navy, with a more detailed fabric.  And as I was scrolling, I found just that, this Chevron Eyelet Shift Dress.  It super easy to shop Nordstrom’s site too, another perk about why I love Nordstrom so much!  You can filter what color you’re looking for, or what price range, even filter it based on what occasion or style you’re hunting (i.e. sleeveless, A-line, ball gown, etc.).
And you know my rule, since I’m 5’6″, I had to find something at least 35″ in length.  Anything shorter is just too short for my height, in my opinion.  Whenever I shop online, if the description reads that it’s shorter than that in length, I’ll usually skip over it…unless I feel like I can wear it with leggings.

And y’all, these shoes are seriously magical!  I know I talked about them yesterday, but when I tried them on for the first time, I couldn’t get over just how sparkly they really are!  Enough that I found it tricky to get a photo that gave them enough justice.  For fit, they’re true to size.  They also come in these three colors below, but they’re selling out quickly, as well.

As for choosing an accessory, I knew I wanted it to be red.  Not something too big, but a subtle red to make it a little more festive.  As soon as I saw this Kate Spade Crossbody, I knew it’d be perfect to compliment the navy.
Unfortunately, my exact style has sold out, but I’m loving this Mini Maise style just as much.  I’ve also included another red style in the collage above.  Both the perfect red to make your outfit pop!

In choosing the rest of what to wear, I went with my new Kate Spade Gold Glitter Studs.  And I’ve already worn my Gorjana ring a few times, and have received so many compliments on it.  It pairs perfectly with my Olympia Cuff.
For more holiday dress ideas, check out my other posts with my favorite classic dress in red and another post featuring it in black.  I’m sure you’re bound to find something to wear for any holiday soiree you’ve got on your calendar!  Happy shopping!
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!  We’re finally in town for a change and plan to take in all the holiday festivities around town.  The kids are so excited!
TGIF, Y’all!
Thank you to Nordstrom for their partnership on this post.
