I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had our tax-free weekend, but unfortunately I didn’t take advantage of this too well, as I didn’t get to shop, as I would have liked. Maybe that was a good thing? Haha. We spent Friday over at the in-laws, relaxing in their neighbor’s pool, and on Saturday, we attended a poolside barbecue which was so much! It’s still very hot here, so it was nice to find a cool place to relax, and still get some sun.
I’m also getting into the really good part of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so I spent a lot of the weekend trying to finish it. I would definitely recommend reading this book. The beginning seems a little boring, but it’s just setting you up for the good part. Also, if you haven’t heard about this author, click here. The whole story of his death is really eerie…
On another note, for this week’s Monday Manners, I checked out the wikipedia search again on Southern food, and found my next list. Next week, I’ll provide you with another list: Soups, Stews and Boils.
Do you see your favorite on the list? If not, what is it?

That's a book I've been meaning to read. I really should grab a copy once I'm finished with my current novel. Your girls are adorable!
The girls are beyond adorable! I could pinch those sweet cheeks! You are so blessed to have them!
XO,
Hannah
Love all the pics! And Beef Brisket is so good…especially when you are eating it in Texas…yum!
I am dying to try shrimp & gritz. Love pulled pork, ribs, jambalaya, crab cakes, and many other southern favorites you've listed. I think I'll pass on the chit'lins. They just don't sound that good to me.
The new photos of your girls are so cute. They look so different from one another, but equally adorable! 🙂
Sounds like you had a great weekend. Us, too! The location of my getaway was Duluth MN. Such a cool spot!
Have a good one!
Your girls are too beautiful! Looks like you made some great memories this past weekend!
I've been on the fence about the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books but you may have just pushed me to putting it on my library request list.
Your girls are adorable!
I'm from VA, and I love crab cakes! I order them almost everywhere I go. The best ones I've had were in a restaurant in Fredericksburg, VA.
Great pictures missy!
I couldn't get into the book. Maybe I didn't give it a good chance because I stopped on page 20 and returned it to B&N. Maybe it's the writing style, I don't know. I probably didn't give it a chance!
I think I have eaten everything on that southern meats list at least once.
Glad to hear that book is great. I normally wouldn't read a book with a title like that. Kids are presh

I'm with you on the shrimp and grits. Any Southerner that doesn't love grits has something wrong with them! I went many years thinking I didn't like them until I finally tried them and loved them.
You are making me veeerry hungry, miss! And pictures of your girls always make me smile – they are adorable!
I have Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on my reading list. I'm reading Eat, Pray, Love right now.
Ummmm….hello!!! Beans and Turnip Greens! and Beans and sauerkraut…. seriously, you can't be southern if you haven't eaten these.
AND, I know this is a beverage…but sweet tea (the correct way, not Lipton).
The girls are adorable!!!
Oh my goodness, terrific pictures of the girls! The one with Miss W dancing…too stinkin' cute! Ooooh and I love me some SHRIMP! Still waiting on eating anything out of the gulf just yet, but as long as they tell me it's caught in the Atlantic I'm good to go!
I am still loving the idea of a blog sale and just think I might have to try it myself! Happy Monday!
Your girls are so pretty and happy!!! I love all the pictures. Your list of amazing food made my mouth water. I think pulled pork is my favorite!
