Monday Manners: Say “Cheese!” Please

Happy Monday!  I hope y’all had a great weekend!  Ours was restful, which was so nice!  We sure needed one, after traveling so much lately.  I’d thought I’d share a couple of photos from visiting my grandparents last week.  E shares the same name as my grandmother (my mother’s mother) – so it’s always even more special when they get together.

And W had everyone in stitches on our visit, after she pretended to read a sheet of paper, rambling on and then said, “Wait a minute, let me go get my glasses.”  She then went and grabbed my mother’s reading glasses, and continued reading the paper.  I think she’s so used to hearing my mother, and father-in-law say it.  W imitates everything at this stage – love it!

The Christmas card photos were hilarious this weekend!  I just needed one, just one, and I think after taking about sixty, I finally got one, just one!  Haha!  Who would have thought that taking a photo with two little minnies would be so difficult?!  I’m just imagining my mom trying to get us all “just so” for our Christmas card photos, with us, six sisters!  And she still sends them out, even now, with all of us – including the new son-in-laws and grandchildren!

Let’s just say, I wasn’t exaggerating how hard it was.  Need proof??

I told you I wasn’t kidding.  And yes, it’s okay to laugh…especially at the second one.  Goodness gracious, girl.  At only two years old, I’m hoping this image isn’t a foreshadow of what’s to come.  My mom would probably wish it upon me.  Haha.  Something about a taste of my own medicine.

Hope y’all have a great start to the week!

  1. What a precious memory that top image is!! You need to get a canvas of that!!! Your girls are precious! I am LOL at the memories of Chrsitamas' past trying to get "that" perfect image! Good Times!

  2. Yep. I've gotten the whole "taste of your own medicine" speech. "What goes around comes around," etc. Oh, well.

I think those photos are hilarious – hey, kids pick their noses. Heck, so do some adults. 🙂

A couple of years ago, we had friends send out a Christmas card that captured their youngest of four boys perfectly. Everyone in the family (mom & dad, too) was looking into the camera perfectly and smiling. But not him. His eyes were looking completely to the side and he was making the strangest face. It was the best Christmas card I've ever received. Made me laugh every time I looked at it. So much of his personality was captured in that one photo.

Those dresses you picked out are adorable. I love that they are not the traditional red or green. The girls look so cute. I'm sure your card will be just precious.

    Have a great Monday!

  3. Love the pic of W and the reading glasses…Mama was still laughing so hard when she told me about it. Glad you found one you could use for the Christmas card…it's just going to get harder as the years pass…I still don't think we've ever taken one where EVERYONE was happy to be in the pic 🙂

  4. That's cracking me up…haven't taken our photo yet but need to get on that soon! Their pink smocked Christmas bishops are so adorable! Perfect for your two cuties! Can't wait to see the final product…Hope you'll share with us here! Have a great start to the week!

  5. I love the picture of W in glasses–it is too funny! The girls look so cute in their Christmas dresses! My mom keeps a Christmas scrapbook for our family, and for at least five years, in every single picture of my brother and I with Santa, he's crying. It just makes my mom laugh.

  6. You're girls are too precious! Where do you get their cute dresses? I'd love to know because I think I am in love! I like how you're Christmas dresses are pink and green! Great idea!

  7. Oh, those remind me of recent holiday photo-taking attempts. I could never get good expressions for both of them. I can so relate! Love the pic of your daughter with the glasses – too cute!
